Well, somebody needs to touch them. Try to talk your hubby into getting rid of things or you will have to do it yourself. If he wants the stuff bad enough he will get a storage building ready for them.

@dawnwriter It’s good that you can start donating your child’s clothes now. I am still keeping a lot of children’s clothes because I am still pregnant with my third baby. I would be happy to donate all the children’s clothes once my children are outgrown from those. 😀
I am not buying any more things into our home, but I have received many hand…[Read more]
@peachpurple I like how you look at them differently – decorative items!! For my husband’s stuffs, I have to leave them to my husband as well. Mostly, his stuffs are papers. Sometimes I just packed them together in a reusable bag, and let him handle himself, as I can’t help him to do so too. Seriously, he wouldn’t like me to accidentally throw…[Read more]

@lookat Hi Anthony. Welcome to our group.
I think in any family there is one person who loves to collect things and the other who wants to get rid of all junk. I guess if both were same way, either the house would be pack-jammed with stuff or totally bare.
Yes, decluttering is great for psychological and health reasons. You just have to be firm…[Read more]

@morgoodie I really want to buy a steam mop. I have heard such good things about it.
Do you use any particular brand? The ones I have seen in the market are a bit low quality stuff and people say they usually stop working after a few weeks.
Can you clean kitchen, bathroom and stairs etc with the same mop? For traditional mops, I keep the ones…[Read more]
@morgoodie i think you have good approach to decluttering.
I tried this tip a few years back and it really help me in keeping my house decluttered.
Take 3-4 strong cardboard boxes. use one for clothes, shoes socks etc children have outgrown. Other for books and papers, another for useless household items like mismatched mugs etc
Before putting…[Read more]
I hate to have to do this. But my wife is better at motivating me to declutter. It is hard to do this and I am not as inclined to act without her support. I have managed these last 3 or 4 days to help move items out of the house and pack away into the out door shed and pack some up for donations.
Keeping the home free of clutter in the end will…[Read more]

I cannot de clutter my home because 80% of the stuff belonged to my hubby.
He hated when I touch his belongings, whether they are useless or useful, I cannot touch them.
He said those things should stay where they are.
Then, he will know where to find them when he needed those stuff.
Hence, my home is always cluttered everyday except the…[Read more]

I use soap powder and a broom with firm bristles to scrub the floor. I can’t waste money of cleaner or vinegar because they are expensive products.
A good scrub 2 days once is sufficient to keep the toilet floor squeaky clean. You can see that the water run off the floor tiles.
If it is dirty, the water stay on top of the tiles.
In addition,…[Read more]

I have uncontrollable regards with my personal belongings and properties. They are all stocked in the corner of the house. My wife tried to declutter them. I stopped her. I don’t know on what to discard and on what to keep. There was a time, that everything inside the house seemed in order. Everything was placed in their rightful area for safe…[Read more]

To clean the bathroom, I will use a cleaner that has bleach in it to get rid of mildew and germs. I will sometimes use baking soda and vinegar for the sink and the tub, but I will use something with bleach in it for the toilet. The floor will be steam mopped since I like this better than traditional mopping and think it does a better job. The hot…[Read more]

I am trying to get my home decluttered because we are moving and I do not want to take all of it with us. I am having a yard sale to get rid of a bunch of stuff and I have been selling some of my smaller things on eBay. If I cannot sell it and it is still in good condition, I will see if someone I know can use it and if not, I will donate it to a…[Read more]

@nakitakona13 You do have a very hardworking wife. I think it’s always good to just clean up the kitchen after using it, it’s easier to clean that way. Glad that your grandchildren help too.
My husband enjoys cooking, and lately as I am not feeling well because of pregnancy and busy with my work, he cooks most of the time and he doesn’t mind…[Read more]

We have the fridge, but it is not working. It now serves as our food keeper. My hard-working wife does the cleaning the kitchen. I notice that she does it every time she is through using the kitchen. When she’s done cooking. She also does the dishwashing. Sometimes, our grandchildren are helping her. When I have time, or when she’s not around or…[Read more]
Since my children were born, I started to use natural products as much as possible, as I would not like them to use too much chemical products.
I do clean my kitchen after I have prepared my meals every time, but I mainly just wipe the stove and counter. I try to wash all the dishes after every meal or before I sleep on that day. This is when I…[Read more]

I would like to say that I clean the kitchen every day, but I do not. I use natural cleaners like baking soda and vinegar to clean with. I usually just use soap and water to clean the refrigerator and take the shelves out to wash in the sink. My floors get mopped with a steam mop so all it uses is hot water without any chemicals. I think this…[Read more]
