I have a lot of problems remembering names and people’s attributes. As an ex registered nurse I remembered patients by their room number and conditions rather than by their names as I had so many of them one after the other. Also as a sideline anecdote, once I forgot my own name when I was introduced to a chief of staff. It took me a couple of seconds to answer: “Nice to meet you. My name is….. Francine.” This instance attracted some mixed reactions from the surrounding people from amusement to concern…

I would much rather text. Not because so much of the lower cost, though it does apply, but much rather because I just do not really like to talk person to person. I have always been like this but much more so since I quit nursing. I think because as a previous registered nurse I used to talk to patients, doctors, lab technicians, X Ray technicians etc etc so much that I have feel that I am talked out literally. |
