Marriage has lost its essence in most of our society. It has become more about acquiring possessions than about sharing a mutual love for one another. Divorce is at a high rate because spouse do not respect each other. Abuse has now become prevalent in marriages because one spouse believes he/she owns the other and that it is he/she prerogative to do what he/she wants/likes with the other.

I agree with you, the Vice President has the duty to speak and serve the country if she finds something’s not happening right or in accordance with what is true and just.
I hope everything would be fine for our beloved country.
-
Hi acelawrites,
Thank you so much for your reply. Yes we all hope that all our country’s ill and problems will just go away just like by the wink of an eye or by just one click of one’s fingers.
But the reality of the political landscapes in our country is far from ideal. It seems that it is always politics as usual in our country. Well, as they say the people deserves the kind of leaders that we elect into public office.
The partisan political interest along political party lines is very self-evident in the case of the threat of impeachment against VP Leni Robredo.
It seems that there is a concerted effort on the part of the Duterte Administration to silence all and every opposition or political opponents that is vocal and critical with current power that be.
Just look what happened to Sen. Leila de Lima. It is not far-fetched that the same fate may happen to VP Leni Robredo especially that the present administration has powerful control of both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
I do not want to sound too alarmist or too pessimistic with what’s going on in our country but all the sign and symptoms of a pending political cataclysms are already there written on the wall.

Hi Shavkat,
Thank you for your reply and it is much appreciated. I agree with your observation that it seems that everything is spinning out of control in our country.
Indeed, powers corrupts and more power corrupts absolutely may be a quotation in point with what’s happening in our beloved country.
Likewise, in the country of the blind the one who rule is a one-eyed king or something to that effect.
It seems the Mr. Duterte is already intoxicated with the allure of power or perhaps an illusion of grandeur on his part? Just look on how he pontificates every now and then. Perhaps he is already too in love with hearing his own voice so much so that he is already deft to the shout and cry of the people?
What I cannot stomach from our current President is the expletives and bad mouthing that he is always indulging into. How could you respect such kind or type of leader when he himself has no common courtesy to others or having no GMRC at all.
We even teach the good moral and right conduct to our young ones even in the nursery and kindergarten yet our very President to my mind has no GMRC at all with regards to others especially with the other Head of States.
Please pardon me for saying so.

My take of terrorism is there is no good or bad terrorists. A terrorist is a terrorist. He knows only to kill people may be it is their fellow citizens people of their same faith or other faiths. The problems starts with the governments of developed nations who take their support to do their bidding. There are some countries which are a haven for terrorists. They provide all sort of training, use of weapon, use of handling explosives all this in the name of ideologies.
These countries then use them as an arm of the military who do subversive and covert operations. They use it against the countries with whom they do not seem to enjoy friendly relations. But these countries get annihilated. As the terrorists they breed know nothing constructive but to kill and be killed. Developed nations should see that they neither take the help of these outfits, nor support them to fight against the countries with whom they have problems. These terrorists are the scum of the earth.

That was what I am sorry for. I was so thin when not yet married, but after giving birth I gained weight so fast though I was so busy with an office job that time. Now I am overweight, trying to lose some weight. It’s good we decided to go on strict diet and daily exercise of walking and biking every morning. Plus moving a lot while inside the house or walking inside malls (ha ha ha!).

@ Dina
You are lucky that you have inherited your mom’s genes and that of our grandma’s Chinese lineage, that is why you look younger than your actual age.
You are also always smiling and that you have a positive outlook in life.
-
@Ruby ,
Thank you for saying that. I think it’s Ruben and Rose who also inherited that in your family.
But you are correct, I smile and laugh a lot. Simple jokes can already make me laugh out loud already. I also have a positive attitude. I always think that if we are having a problem, we just have to do what we can to solve it. When it cannot be solved, give it to God and just hope it will soon be solved.
Positivism is also helping me really to look and feel young.
Though, you still look young for your age too, Ate Rubs. And so with Ate Ruth. I guess we in our clan have that gene.
-
As what they also say, “it runs in the family:
You just don’t laugh, you laugh with your eyes and i think that is one of your asset.
Any problems you have in life, it does not show. You carry yourself well!

-
you are good in that post that how women feel but we all have different bodies, and i saw many women that looks really much younger than her real age, i guess this people who smile alot and live the life as it is and take good note of their life experiences as that affect how you look, how you feel, thanks for bringing this issue to us before its late
-
@dealio ,
Our positive outlook in life, reflects in our face, thus we look & feel younger. Smiling a lot, laughing and joking are helping us to feel young too.
As to stress, that is inevitable. It comes to each and everyone. We just have to have a good way of dealing with problems so we will not be stressed much.
Do what we can do to solve a problem. But when you cannot you ask from people you are close with. In addition, ask for the help of God. He too, is always just waiting for us to call on him for help.
Though, eating healthily and exercising are the primary things that really helps in us to look and feel young at our ages. 🙂

I agree, we must avoid eating comfort foods especially junk foods that are not healthy. Many people especially young people resort to eating comfort foods instead of healthy foods because they are always in a hurry, and because of peer influence.
-
Nice article! Thank you for the tips which I hope I could follow to the T.
You are right, almost everyone of us have their own comfort food.
For me, my comfort food are peanuts, saba banana (whether boiled, ‘turon’ or with sugar coating, corn, and anything sweet. Maybe this is the reason why I have high blood sugar hahaha.
Food that is also cooked with coconut milk, which we Bicolanos are famous for, is also a comfort food for me
I don’t go so much for spicy foods, which is the norm for the youth of today.
May I also add, there was a study that it is much better if we drink 2 glasses of water before having your breakfast, 1 glass before we take a bath, 1 glass each every meal (that’s 3 glasses), and 2 glasses before you go to sleep, for a total of 8 glasses a day.
-
If comfort eating is a habit that you frequently fall back on to try to make yourself feel better, it can be hard to know how to break the cycle.
However, it is possible to stop it.Sometimes, you may think that you’re hungry but this may not actually be the case. Before you head for the fridge or cupboard, ask yourself whether you’re genuinely hungry or not. If your stomach isn’t actually rumbling, you may not really be hungry. If you suspect that you’re bored rather than hungry, distract yourself and see if you’re still hungry afterwards.

Yes…you are right to above mentioned article about religion. Origin of religion is cosier as old as human civilization trying to become as a setelled community. Why it happened to necessity of religion. It is a very deep question relating religion.
Some tells that it was fear which in forms of nature and animals first introduced. Then after to control over community. This feature of religion continued for long periods with worshiping their ancestors also. Both there were several drawbacks of this type of religion. Some people became mighty and some very weak.As always be ,mighty oppresses weaker section. Then all times of history there come a great human being to save weaker section with his thoughts .His ideas and teachings take a form of of religion. Follower of those teachings are considered as different community. Cristianity, Islam,Buddhism are those type of religions started by such great human beings.
They presented an example of simple living and there are billions of followers of above mentioned religions.
In modern computer age as education and technology is growing importance of it is reducing it has still a great impression of society.Society run according to the religious format.Bith ,marriage and death all customs related are associated with it. -
The blog is nice and good but for the mention of the Carl Marx quote which is totally absurd. Marx himself is a communist and the communist could never lead a happy role in any place on the planet. For Marx this may be Opium. Why the Head of China is worried about Mr. Dalai Lama’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh. The Prime Minister Mr. Li Peng is feeling chill of his backbone with the visit of Mr. Lama.
Religion is not made. It is a combination of a set of principles and guidelines that can satisfy the people of their doubts with regard to birth, death, and afterlife as you said rightly.
This is important for a peaceful living of a set of community in a proposed area without being overlapped by any other faiths of any other groups or religious belief.
What we are calling development, technology, modernization is all the thrown-out remains of the Ancient cultures and Civilizations. They used them all, researched on everything, finally thrown them aside as did not satisfy their needs except creating unrest among various people. The dirt which they have thrown out has become a great technological development for us and we are still playing like kids calling ourselves developed which is not at all a truth. The ancients are far superior in their knowledge than the modern scientists. Their way of dealing with nature was confined to four corners of a Laboratory. They enjoyed nature, they played with it and finally drafted rules which appear now, as scriptures in various religions which unfortunately we do not comprehend and keep them aside as TRASH. We are actually a big trash thrown out of their culture.
Even after the so-called development, we are guided by inhibitions, doubts, unrest, poverty, selfishness, xenophobia, hydrophobia, our own safety, our own society, our own belief (narrowed down to lanes and streets)and even territorial jurisdiction. If we are really developed we should have broken the boundaries laid down by Religions. We are not doing it, and we can not.If by chance, anybody takes a step to cross the boundaries then he will find ultimately that what he said was already mentioned in the religious scriptures. We talk about love, passion, etc., These are already mentioned in the Bible. We talk about humanism which is already played important roles in the administration of the Ancient Rulers.
To conclude, we achieved a big NIL. When we question ourselves as to the achievements we made with our technology, there is nothing to be proud of. Only some BIKINIS (EVEN these were available IN India and worn by INDIAN SADHUS on the Seashores) We are already bikinied (making one finally naked) by our administrators with false promises on Development and service.

An informative post. But I would suggest if one really wants to reduce weight and keep oneself fit then it is simply better one walks at least six kilometers a day if one finishes the distance in 50 minutes and follows the routine continuously and does body toning exercises one will be fit and the blood circulation will improve too and he will enjoy good sleep and be active.
As per yoga and gym one has to go there they do need a teacher or an institute to do the practice as it requires guidance too. It does take some time for one to reduce weight and one has to be regular and meticulous about his or her schedule. Then even they will produce results. It is good to do what one would want to do as one will continue with the same for a long time. Both are good but yoga is preferable or it is still better to simply walk and do some body and muscle toning exercises. Thanks for the share.
-
Thank you very much. We should what we enjoy most…. whatever may be that. Walk or run, yoga or gym, dance or arobix, whatever we want.

I don’t know if music is the language of the soul but I do know I love music.
-
It is so good to know that you love music. What type of music do you like to listen to? Are you listening to music every day? Do you go to concert? Maybe I’m asking too much from you.
I have long love-affair with music that started during my high school days. I use to listen to love song which nowadays they called “ballad”; although from what I know ballad is usually associated with poetry.
Since then my love for music keeps on growing. I like country/folk, jazz, love song, classical, new age, new wave, slow rock and other musical genre. My taste for different kind of music is almost eclectic.
I like so many singer and artist. I have so many tapes and CD collections through the years. Most of my favorite music are the constant source of my inspiration in life.
I love to hear and discover new music—songs that I never heared before. I also like to read books about the lives of great musicians and composers.
I hope that your love and appreciation for music will grow as the year passes by. As I write this reply I’m listening to Antonio Vivaldi’s “The Four Season”.
Talk to you soon.

I don’t get the idea how come the press or media entities and people are the enemy, in the first place they are the mediator for the people and the government. They are giving news and information constituents to government and vice versa.
It doesn’t mean the when they hurt people or expose the wrong agenda of the state that they are the enemy now. Sometimes this is just misinterpretation.
Though I think, sometimes its the sides or angles that the media and press people they present that they are being hit. But being being biased, for me, is when you attacked one people or entity and don’t the side of that concern person. But even when you attacked but tried to get their comment, that is fair– well, as far as myself is concern.
-
I absolutely agree with your observation and comment. The remarks that “the fake news is the enemy of the people” came from no less than Mr. Donald Trump himself.
He misunderstood the vital role of the press or media. Yes you are right, media may be considered as the “mediator” between the government and the people which it governs. That’s why it is called the “Fourth Estate” or “The Fourth Power” in society. It implies press/media’s role and importance.
In every democratic government and society throughout the world, the value and importance of the press/media is cherished. Without the press or media, there would be no efficient transmission of knowledge and informations; there would be no basis for the variety of views and opinions, not to mention intelligent debates on any social issues of the day.
The media or press can truly make or break anyone when it wanted to. It could also be a force to reckon. Its primary role to my mind is to make every one aware on what’s going on around us.
With awareness comes knowledge. And with knowledge comes intelligent decision to act, to make the voice of the people heared by the government or any power that be.
-
-
Mr.Trump did not know how a media organization works. He did not know that journalists have a set of Tenets that they follow in the course of their job as news gatherer; news provider. There could be some rotten eggs in the media, but not all of them are bad; there are still crusading ones who value the truth so much, because credibility is very important to them.
-
yes they are the enemy due to the fact that people depend on them in the past to knwo the news but for the bad luck there is not much morals now adays and the media or social media become trade and keys that business world get big bite of it to serve there business and fool some people, that is how it works

You said that the effect of computer age won’t backfire. I don’t think so. The unprecedented advancement of technology would in any time or era would manifest its defectiveness or shortcomings that would certain wreak havoc for all mankind. It couldn’t be denied anymore the cyber bullying, the intrusion of hackers to personal or confidential data for a money or for a nebulous purpose. We are afraid that the war would be handled by a “push button” strategy through computerization.

really thats so sweet from you and yoru friend who did all that, nice things means meaningful things not pricey things, its by the menaing oft he things not by the price of the things or by it is sizes, its only has a meaning when its from people you like and when you need it or they need it and gave it to you, its so beautiful to feel for others when they dont say a word and help also without them to ask you to help
@mangoh ,
Thank you for saying that.
They are after all my parents. I am just trying to return the love they gave me and my siblings while we were growing up. They sacrificed a lot in order for me and my siblings to have a nice life and be sent to college.
Now, that I already have a family, I see to it that I still have the time to be with them in my free days from work and give them the things they may want. Although, my father being a retired judge have a big pension, this little thing such as giving to him this gift that is supposedly for me, made him so happy.
That is so nice to hear this thing about you my friend. You are a person with a kind and generous heart , because you like sharing things especially when it comes to our love ones.
You share without asking for return and that is what is expected of us when we help people or share our time to help other people.
Really, you volunteered in Central Asia? When was that and what did you do as a volunteer? And were you not given any allowance for your needs there, or were you in allowance basis?
It is really a nice feeling when in our own little way, we are able to share what we have not waiting for any return at all.
That is how we should be to our parents. Loving and caring. Even if we give them little things, it means a lot to them already.
That’s because they feel important when we give them these things they want. Especially, when they are already getting old, the least we can do is be with them, talk and share stories with them. Time is already getting shorter for them, so we should find the time to even just be with them and give them small things like their favorite foods.
They took care for us all since our birth and until we can be on our own already, so when the time comes that they are already a bit older, we can start paying back those days when they took care of us.
So funny. Moms can complain about a gift we give them and we’ll bend over backwards so that she will be pleased. :0
@Treathyl FOX ,
Yes, moms would complain of our gifts. My mother is like that.
She would complain that she has lots of them already, when I gifted her a shawl and a bag.
Father got angry at her for being that way and reprimanded her that she should be happy we gave her a gift and it comes from our heart. The next time around , she didn’t complain anymore.
That is why, I like giving a gift to my father, because he would really smile from ear to ear and would thank profusely for it. Little things means a lot to him already. 🙂
So funny. Moms can complain about a gift we give them and we’ll bend over backwards so that she will be pleased. 🙂
