    • A well researched article about health benefits of fruits especially about egg fruit. Nowadays there is high demand for organic products including fruits as awareness has increased among the people about the negative effects of medication. But people still continue using them as they are used to allopathic medication. I have come across some families which are used to other forms of treatment like Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and others. These medicines take time but the remedy is permanent whereas allopathy has instant results but with negative results in the long run. When we buy fruits it is preferable to but fruits which are available in plenty as it is their season. They will be fresh and healthy. I think your garden gives you a regular supply of good fruits all through the year.

    • I always have bumper crops not knowing what to do with them as there is no market here for our produce. But we enjoy these fruits which get ripe naturally unlike what one gets in shops.

    • You are right. Nepal is a great place for tourists. I think it is famous for mountains and peaks.

I would prefer enjoying the beauty of a skyscraper to a high mountain.
We must be very closer to nature when it comes to our mental and physical health. Nature is our best friend. We must try to save and preserve it.

    • I prefer mountains 😀 although modernisation is needed to enrich our lifestyle.

    • I’m a nature lover so i really appreciate all the beautiful landscape scenery as well as the fresh air in the rural city, the breath taking views of the mountain, the sun set biding goodbye at the end of the day, the shimmering waters of the ocean, it was really a picture perfect and a sight to behold. I hope somehow i would like to be close to the nature to see its beauty beyond words.

    • It is only after reading posts of users like you that I have realised how beautiful Philippines is. You are lucky to be surrounded by mountains.

    • We shifted from a city to a semi rural town just to be with nature. Here it is peaceful and I have created a lot of greenery around me.

    • Each country has its charm and highlights. While countries like Nepal are ancient and have lots of pagodas and temples. In the case of Singapore it has developed well after independence. Its main income is shipping industry, tourism, infrastructure to name a few. In the case of Nepal a big part of it is preserved eternally in nature and that adds to the beauty of the place and the people are also the natives who have been living their for centuries unlike Singapore. Two different cities with contrasting styles. If you want peace of mind Nepal is a better place to be at. You seem to have lot of pleasant memories which is good.

      • Nepal is indeed a place a getaway when one wants peace. There is not much development but nature has gift enough to attract tourists. Singapore on the other hand is a well laid out country – also a place where a tourist can enjoy mostly the cleanliness around it.

    • Absolutely. Being optimistic can relieve our stressful day.
Always think positive to have a good heart, as they say.
Though, it is impossible to be positive when all the people around you are negative thinkers.
It is impossible sometimes to be positive when in your working place, all your co-workers treat you as their competitor.
It is impossible to be positive when you are suffering from deadly illness or you are suffering from a great disaster.
However, it is good to always put in mind that being positive makes everything okay.

      • It is possible. Just try and get that book by Norman Vincent Peale. You will get the guidance there. I have seen terminally ill peple having a smile on their face and so on

    • I would like to second you in this regard. I am impressed by this short but great post written by you. I would like to read it again and again as it is a great source of inspiration for me.

A Pedigree breed is what we thought would be ideal to adopt as pets and we did move in that direction. We have had two of the pedigree pets and others a mix with a strain of pedigree in all of them. After all […]

    • Training with compassion does the trick When they know we love them they will do as we tell them

    • Well, the definition of stray and pedigree are entirely different. Pedigree has to do with a class of animal. For example, if the dog is purebred or of mix breed. A stray is an animal that has no place to call home regardless of its breed. I say this because we found a stray chihuahua once (we still have her). Just like children, all dogs have a unique personality about them. They are all different. I have three dogs and they all act differently. My pit bull is quieter and laid back, while the chihuahua likes to run around barking at everything. Their puppy (yes, the pit bull and the chihuahua mated) likes to run around and jump up and down and is the happiest puppy ever that loves to tear up furniture.

    • My first dog was a purebred miniature shetland sheep dog. She lived till the ripe old age of 16 years and never developed any diseases except for a little bit of arthritis. She was also a joy to have and to hold and to cherish. My second dog was a miniature American Eskimo, pure white with a brown nose and brown eyes. But being of the category spitz dog, she was quite the handful and needed constant training and watching. She would even jump the fence and that is what happened one day. She jumped the fence and even though I looked high and low for her, I never found her. My third dog was a mix German Shepherd and Husky. She also lived till about 17 years old.She was definitely a joy to hold, to love, to pet and cherish. I really enjoyed my walks with her especially in the winter. Being part Husky, she fared much better when it was cold. All dogs, whether purebred or stray or mixed breeds deserve a loving hand and home.

On November 8 the Prime Minister of India announced demonetization of currency notes with a denomination of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 Reports have it that it was a dictatorial announcement – not even the Finance M […]

    • This daring move by India’s PM made the news in the USA. I was dumfounded. I thought to myself “Is this going to work?”

So it wasn’t a good idea huh? Can’t say I’m surprised at the results. But when crime is bad and something has to be done, I can sort of understand the PM thinking “We need to do something drastic!” He must have been desparate!

    • Black money in cash is only 6% and rest is in gold, property and other instruments. And much of it is stacked in Switzerland.

This has put the middle class and poor who mostly deal in cash at great hardship.
What can they do with 2000 rupee notes? There are many other restrictions too

    • Not trying to tell the PM how to govern, but leaders need to think of the impact of their decisions on the masses before implementing solutions. Why should the middle class and poor always have to suffer? Life is hard enough for them without making an “everyday activity” a “criminal offense”. The thought of this just makes me angry and I’m not even the one being directly impacted. But I do empathize.

      • As they say ends do not justify means and here the means are disastrous. People are dying waiting in queues. With frauds in banks there is no currency left for the common man. But they being in the majority opposition is struggling to send the message.

    • Our politicians!! What can we say about them. And of course the rich and the corrupt always know about these things in advance. There are reportedly billions of dollars in Swiss banks that aredeposited by corrup[t third world leaders and flats, chateaus, diamonds, even castles. They will not be affected by these decisions. It is always the poor who suffer. Not a fan of Modi for many other reasons too. And you can bet there will be “incidents” that take away media’s and people’s attention away from these issues and focus on those instead.

    • You are so right. Just about 6% is in currency and this man is trying to arrest black money. Already new notes are in the hands of those who have converted their black money into white.

    • Making healthy food choices is a smart thing to do — no matter how old you are! Your body changes through your 60s, 70s, 80s, and beyond. Food provides nutrients you need as you age. Use these tips to choose foods for better health at each stage of life.

Meals are more enjoyable when you eat with others. Invite a friend to join you or take part in a potluck at least twice a week. A senior center or place of worship may offer meals that are shared with others. There are many ways to make mealtimes pleasing

Learn to recognize how much to eat so you can control portion size. My Plate’s Super Tracker shows amounts of food you need. When eating out, pack part of your meal to eat later. One restaurant dish might be enough for two meals or more.

Foods may seem to lose their flavor as you age. If favorite dishes taste different, it may not be the cook! Maybe your sense of smell, sense of taste, or both have changed. Medicines may also change how foods taste. Add flavor to your meals with herbs and spices.

Don’t take a chance with your health. A food-related illness can be life threatening for an older person. Throw out food that might not be safe. Avoid certain foods that are always risky for an older person, such as unpasteurized dairy foods. Other foods can be harmful to you when they are raw or undercooked, such as eggs, sprouts, fish, shellfish, meat, or poultry.

      • You are right about food being the main cause health or ill health. There are so many issues that we need to keep in mind and you have highlighted the very well.

    • The red rose began its illustrious symbolic history in Greek and Roman iconography, where it was tied to Aphrodite, or Venus, the goddess of love. Later, in early Christian times it became associated with the virtue of Virgin Mary.

By the time Shakespeare rolled around it had already become a poetic standard that he, and later Gertrude Stein, both famously played with in their works. Throughout its long, storied history, the red rose still reigns as the ultimate symbol of passionate affection.
Rose is the king flower all over the world and I like it most because its smell is delicious and fine entrancing men’s wit and wisdom. What’s more classically romantic than red roses? Almost everyone knows (or should know) that a brilliant bouquet of red roses is the perfect way to declare feelings of romantic love. Whether in celebration of an anniversary, wedding,

Valentine’s Day or even National Romance Month (August), there is no mistaking the implication of passion, desire and above all, love, associated with red roses. So, how has the red rose become what it is known for today?

It’s probably safe to say there’s no more prevalent or enduring symbol of love and beauty in Western culture than red roses.

Red roses often appear in poetry, literature, classical artwork, contemporary films and everywhere in between. Renowned Scottish poet, Robert Burns, compared his love to a red rose in the poem Red, Red Rose, and the card “soldiers” in Alice in Wonderland lost their heads for painting white roses red, just to name a few classics.

These fragrant blooms come in varying shades of red, which also carry different symbolic meanings. For example, a bright red rose signifies romance, while burgundy means a love that has yet to be realized.
