Yesterday, I had to accompany Bryan, my grade 8 student in the morning to attend the launching program for Oplan Balik Eskwela, that is, an activity for back to school. I have taught my kids to use a sharp knife and my daughter who is 10 helps me a lot in the kitchen. She loves to cut vegetables for dinner or to cut any food at all. I have been slowly teaching her to cook and there are some things she can cook on her own. I always tell her to be careful when using a sharp knife and have taught her the proper way…[Read more]

Yes, we do teach our children on how to use knife properly to avoid cutting their hands accidentally. Safety measures in any undertakings they do should be strictly observed. We also teach them on how to take care of the knife to render its maximum service and where to place it after using it. We teach them how to handle knife when cutting…[Read more]

Honestly, that is one of my main concern as I have a nephew. I need to orient him before using the real knife. I will let him use it until he fully understand, but as much as possible, I don’t want younger ones holding a knife. It makes me scared. I guess a video tutorial on how to teach kids to use the knife properly is a must for me and for my nephew.

honestly, my son who is 9 years old have not held on a real kitchen knife yet.
Butter or bread knife , the smaller type , yes, he used them to cut cakes, kuih, pancakes, etc on his own.
It wasn’t easy to teach him to hold a butter knife because he doesn’t have the patience when the food doesn’t cut through.
he would let go of the…[Read more]

My children have been using knife to cut food, even my little girl who is 4 years old. I started to let them use butter knife when they were younger, and now both of them have been using real knife. I didn’t use any proper ways to teach them, but just showed them how I cut food and asked them to watch out their fingers while cutting. Of course, I…[Read more]

I’m a helping kind of person as well, but there are certain things that another person can’t help some one with. Some times people make excuses for NOT doing some thing as well. They really can do it, but they might use the “I’m too old” or “I can’t do this” when in actuality they can do it!!
ciocirlan gabriela replied to the topic Do you spank your child? in the forum Family & Relationships 8 years, 6 months ago
That depends on each one, that one cannot comment on what we want to do as long as the child matter how we grow.
But I do not think a date palm at the right time can influence child correct growth, if we can think that one day we would not if we let all listen more in his will.
I accept myself as someone hitting a child, nor let him climb into…[Read more]

ciocirlan gabriela replied to the topic Would you support your jobless partner for a long time periods? in the forum Family & Relationships 8 years, 6 months ago
Yes I agree with this, because if I think about in the end we are humans and we need great understanding.
Still not have to exaggerate with helpful partner, ie the years pass and pretending not to work at all can sit at home doing nothing all his life.
But if we have a business or earn a living will learn to do so to help my partner so much as I could.
ciocirlan gabriela replied to the topic How People Treat You in the forum Family & Relationships 8 years, 6 months ago
Most people always keep asking the impossible, but never about whether or not we can achieve.
I never said that I will not turn to help people or that I’m not help but I will never try to exaggerate, it seems a bit absurd to do that.
Although if you I am thinking better, some if they will stretch a hand on all or more than that, it counts when…[Read more]
