shaloo walia & suny – OK. I see that I do understand about the revenue potential. Then I’m glad I decided to stay there because I could not do the same thing with a WordPress blog that I tried to publish my own since I had not purchased a domain name.
peachpurple – Agree with shaloo walia. At many of those communities there are always members who did not come there to earn money. They liked the writing and the socializing. But maintaining a blog at BlogJob is not a total waste for those trying to develop a passive income stream. The fact that you see Sheridan when you sign in means he has not given up and that gives members who are hanging in there hope!

OK. Correct me if I’m wrong. It was only the Points Program that was suspended. There is still a revenue-share plan for those who have Google Ad Sense (or a comparable alternative). You are allowed to use affiliate referral links. You have a lot of freedom to choose free templates and customize your blog so it reflects your “personality”. That means it’s still a free blog that can produce an income stream, as long as the site owners keep the site up and running. Yes? No??

Look at the top of the page. See “HOME”. Click it.
Scroll down the page. Look at the sidebar. See “Blog Categories”. Click on one.
Look in the web address box at the top of the browser. See the URL.
Type “?random” at the end of that URL.
What do you get?

I sort of thought that was what you meant but I wasn’t sure. Considering that the site owner always conducted himself courteously, I will trust that he doesn’t want to throw away years of his blood , sweat and tears, any more thaN we do. No matter what, he has invested more into the site than the members have. I think he wants to make it a thriving community again. He could have done like so many of the other sites. You know nothing and then wake up one day to see that the site no longer exists. No warning. Just a good bye note saying “See ya!”

I really really really liked BlogJob. I do hope they make a comeback! I felt so comfortable and productive there. I was even brave enough to start a group, something I don’t do because of my lack of confidence. The fact that the site is still there provides a ray of hope for the future. 🙂

@ruby3881 -Thanks for the explanation. It was a mess, wasn’t it? But by contrast, Sheridan, the BJ site owner is really nice!

@ruby3881 – Getting external traffic? I thought that was the point of being able to share via Facebook and Twitter. I can’t say what happened behind the scenes but something major must have gone on. Why wholly revamp a site and then shut it down within the year? That’s not good business sense at all. I suspect we don’t have the whole story and doubt we ever will.

Suspended? For 3 months??? I’m not sure what you’re talking about. I can see members still publishing posts. I have not tried publishing a post recently. But I have no problems signing in. (???) (O.o)

OK! I confess. I wasn’t that serious. But I think it had income potential. No biggie. I didn’t lose much by their departure. Glad it happened now and not 5 years up the road.

suny – shaloo walia – Tried it! It worked! Thanks! 🙂 |

@sunil – Thank you. That sounds like really sound advice. Also, I just noticed something. My user name at Literacy Base is “cmoneyspinner”, however if you use my real name like @Treathyl FOX , instead of @cmoneyspinner , I can still click on the link and it will go to my profile page. Never seen this happen at other sites. I like it! 🙂 OR??? Did you type the text and then hyperlink it?

I share via my Tumblr blogs, and Google+, Twitter and Facebook. StumbleUpon is another good site to share but I always forget! Got to get into the habit of more SU sharing. 🙂

Yeah. It turns out it wasn’t a problem at all. When the post was approved the image I submitted came out perfectly fine! Guess it just showed that way in draft pre-approval mode. (O.o) I don’t know! My approved post looks great online and displays the way I want it to look. So if something ain’t broke, I don’t try to fix it! 🙂

For the first time I set up a blog that I was really proud to say that I published and it was at BlogJob. Right after that the rewards/points program was suspended (which probably translates as “ain’t never coming back!”). But I was still pleased with my blog. Now with people constantly reporting that the site is down, I’m concerned and can’t decide whether or not to move my blog elsewhere. The down time makes me wonder of it’s What do you think? I really would appreciate your thoughts on this. I’m going bananas trying to weigh my options!!!
