That’s interesting! The blog post looks great! The content it linked back to was also an excellent link as well! That must have been a surprise to you too! Thanks for the explanation. I do use embedded content on some of my other blogs. That’s why I wondered about it. Never had any plans to embedded content it here though. But I do use external links for my content as I realize that is allowed. Thanks again! Clarification much appreciated. Happy blogging!! 🙂

suny – Oh! OK! I misunderstood. Thought you meant you were an editor for LiteracyBase. Whoever the editor is, I hope they’re reading this thread. 🙂 |
|
suny – The comment above about “who edits the post?” was directed to you. I forgot to mention your name. |

Placing the inserted image after the first paragraph is a good blogging and writing practice. The sites that are showing images as you say are likely using the Featured Image tool which shows up and may look like it’s a part of the content but it’s not. |
|
Exactly. The Featured Image is not what’s causing the problem. It’s the image that is being inserted into the content. If you place it BEFORE the content begins, it causes SEO problems. If you place it somewhere within the content, there are no problems. |
|
So do you edit everybody’s posts? Because I have noticed more than one post with this problem. |
|
We’re not talking about NOT including images. We’re talking about WHERE to place the images in the content. The Featured Image is the first image. That does not impact SEO, if you use the Featured Image tool in the dashboard.
For the second image, i.e. the one you place within your content … when you write your content out, be sure not to place the image BEFORE the first paragraph. In other words, don’t start the post off with the image. Otherwise it will have an effect on how the search engine “bots” pick it up and display it in the search results. It even has an effect on how it appears when I receive a message in my eMail that a blog post has been published.

There is a well known American soup company and they have promoted their products for many years by saying “Soup is good food.” I agree. My favorite soup must have a dark green leafy vegetable, a clear and tasty broth, chicken or sausage chunks, and some kind of beans – red beans, black beans, etc. or black eye peas. Also, I like most of all of the Asian noodle soups, no matter what the recipe variation is. Ever been to a Soup Party? 🙂 |

It was a thought. I’ll leave my comment visible and won’t do it again.
Yes mam. I can see you!! 🙂

Sharing helps if one does not have followers and can also increase the base for those who do have followers. Being recognized builds your online reputation and presence. The search engine robot sees you! It may take a while before your see the benefits, as it does not happen over night, but do it!
So does this means no need to delete my comment? Share a link to one of your blog posts or articles. By the way, I see you all over the Internet. 🙂

bestwriter – Just need a little clarification on this topic you have presented. Let’s say we keep this thread going and maybe once a week, share a link from one of our other blogs. Once a week, say every Friday. We can then perhaps visit some or all of the various posts shared and leave comments and/or reshare. I’ll start by sharing a post from one of my blogs. If you’re not OK with this idea, since this is your thread, I’ll delete this comment. Fair? * * * |

It’s not working for me. Getting a huge blank box. Somebody already suggested this site to me. |

@peachpurple – You’re welcome! I’m glad Literacy Base chose the WordPress platform for this site. WP is loaded with nifty features. 🙂 |

No I don’t find virtual friends “better”. I don’t think along those lines. I work at home. My virtual friends are virtual for two reasons: met them online and probably won’t ever see them face-to-face because they live in another state or even another country. I consider the same as my friends that I had when I worked a job outside the home. If we ever physically met, wouldn’t we still be friends? I don’t see a difference. |

@ruby3881 ~ Based on my experiences with these social networks that say they’ll pay, I’ve decided on a self-imposed rule that if the cash out is $100, I’m not wasting my time there! In most instances they promise revenue sharing but it appears they help themselves to the revenue and only share with a select few members. I got better things I can do with my time. (Sigh.) Quoting one of your fellow Canadians, Alanis Morrisette: “You live. You learn.” 🙂
