Depends on how you define “active”.
My HP account shows about 20 HUBs, all featured except for one of them. I sign in from time to time to check for broken links, etc., share a status update, leave a few comments, and find some HUBs to share via social networks. That’s sort of “active”.
My earnings are … waiting … waiting … waiting. One day I’ll reach day I’ll each pay out.
The benefits of having HUBPages is that my content is “evergreen”. That means today or 5 to 10 years from now, people will still be interested in reading them. HP has a good online reputation and that’s worth money even if you can’t calculate how much. Though I am not doing much at the site, income is still being generated. Could I make more if I put more effort into it? Possibly. But sites like LiteracyBase are showing earnings at a much faster pace. So I leave my HUBs alone and let them generate income slowly and use a site like this to generate income a lot quicker.
Although (???) … I have to wonder (???) … if HP has been around for so long, why can’t they do what these other sites are doing so that members can earn income quicker? It’s a thought.

My BB activity is just to help a friend. My only complaint with LB is how long it takes to get a blog post approved. But I figure it’s a situation where there are “So many posts. So few editors.” As such I don’t complain because every blog post that I have ever submitted has been approved. The longest I’ve had to wait was 48 hours. Eh! That’s not all that bad! In the interim I can comment at posts, in groups, and even on my wall or a friend’s wall. All of it goes into the bank! Cool huh?

For some reason I’m OK with 300 words, but the 400 words requirement is causing writer’s block for me. I wrote for other sites that had the same requirement. But when I found sites that only required 300, I’m like … Forget about it! I’m going for easy street! 🙂

I leave comments now and then at BlogBourne. I do enjoy reading the blog posts and points are earned for my commenting. I do not want to spend a lot of time there because I can’t justify it to my husband if I can’t show monetary proof for my efforts. I don’t blog much here at this site, but reading and commenting and interactions with the members is an activity I look forward to.

YAY! Kudos to the Admin and Support people for getting right on it. However, would be nice if people would stop visiting sites and creating unnecessary extra work for other people to have to do. Just sayin’.

shaloo walia ~ I don’t know what it is but I am having problems at the site. It’s acting kind of quirky. Will have to recheck later. It’s probably easy to reach the $5 pay out. But after that how easy is it to reach the $15 pay out. Also, you can’t earn for commenting, like here at LiteracyBase. Am I right or wrong about that? |

I must admit. I did have fun chatting with you. It also reinforced my learning of blogging tips and tricks that I have been picking up throughout the years. I’m always curious to know what others have experienced as well. 🙂

Shavkat – OK. You and the others have convinced me. Also, this time when I visited the site, the page loaded properly and I could see the articles. This site was on my my “No No” list. I am going to sign up and give it a try. Got nothing to lose. It’s free to join! 🙂 |

I only have two articles at BlogBourne. Like you, I’m not motivated to write because I don’t know if it will generate earnings. Also, searching the site for topics of interest to me so that I can comment is not so easy. You can earn coins for comments. Were it not for the fact that I have friends there, I would likely not be at the site at all.

To be honest. It’s a HIT or MISS. Sometimes the script works and sometimes it doesn’t. I have been at certain platforms where it displays properly and looks great! I’ve been at other sites where it either doesn’t display properly or it totally disappears! (O.o) I’m a non-geek. I can’t explain it. (O.o) Nevertheless, we’ve gotten a little off track. Thanks for answering my original question. Be blessed!!

nakitakona13 ~ Thanks for mentioning Please check my public message updates. I like this site. Took a deep breath and decided to take a chance and go direct. Hoping the problem gets corrected immediately. I posted to my own wall because I don’t want others to take responsibility for my words and actions. CC: bestwriter

bestwriter ~ These tabs are not available when you are creating a blog post here. The site owners don’t allow bloggers to edit their blog posts. However when we are commenting in a forum like this one, you will notice in the box where you’re typing your questions or replies, there are two tabs. One says “Visual” and one says “Text”. When you click on the “Text” tab, that allows you to put in HTML code or script. When you click back on the “Visual” tab you can see what it will look like before you click the “Submit” button for final publishing.
At LiteracyBase you can edit your comments in forums. But you can’t edit your posts. This embedded content “script” won’t work if you do it for your posts, because there are no tabs for Visual and Text. There is only Visual. So, as you said or what I understood you to say, the site’s editor must have done that for you, using the link that you supplied.
I used embedded content at some of my other blogs but not here. For my posts here, I just use hyperlinks.

bestwriter – It worked! You need to click the tab that says “Text”, put the code there, click the tab that says “Visual” to preview it. You may or may not see the image until you publish.

Easiest way to explain embedded content? There is a site called Embedly. Create a free account. Go to the dashboard, insert a link (pretty much any link, but use one that might have an image). It will create a coding for you to insert into your blog post. That’s embedded content. That are other sites that do this and other blogging platforms and social media networks that have this feature. I just used that site to show you what I am referring to. Embedded content is NOT the same as inserting a hyperlink, which is “OK” and which is what many bloggers do when writing a blog post and referring to additional related content. Are we clear?

nakitakona13 ~ bestwriter already responded to my question. I’m not really sure what you’re going on about but it doesn’t pertain to the question I was asking. (O.o) Who said anything about me not being satisfied? (O.o) Her post looked great and I wanted to know how to mine look good too. (O.o) Really? What are you talking about?? (O.o) You sound like you’re beating me up for asking a simple question that I got a simple answer for from the person that I asked the question to. Are you having a bad day or something? Because your response is very confusing to me. (O.o) CC: @admin @support ~ I am at this site to work in peace. I don’t come here to harass or be harassed. As the owners, you reserve the right to tell me get packing and send me on my way at any time. Y’all have a nice day too! 🙂
