I agree with shaloo walia. BlogJob did not disclose the details as to why the Rewards program was discontinued. But they also didn’t shut down the site and leave bloggers hanging! As far as I’m concerned they could have asked everybody to leave! I’m grateful and praying for the site to be successful. If the points program get started again that would be marvelous. If not, then special thanks to the owners anyway, for helping struggling bloggers like me have a place to publish their blog posts and build their online presence. 🙂

She made contact with some of us a couple of days ago via Facebook. Yeah. She’s been having problems.

cely – Precisely! This is not my site. I don’t approve or disapprove anything here. So if the site owners approve a post that begins with an image, this discussion need not be continued. I was simply making a suggestion with nothing but good intentions for the success of this site and improving its rankings with the search engines. 🙂 |

@cessy08 – That’s the beauty and purpose of the Featured Image feature. The image appears at the beginning of the post. It makes the post visually appealing and does not have a negative impact on SEO. Another thing, which I am not good about doing, but it really should be done is putting in caption and a description. Nothing major. One to three words that describe the image.

@Shavkat – Yes! Images do attract readers. The problem is that the people who wrote the search engine optimization program wrote it with TEXT in mind and not images. Didn’t know that when I started blogging. Now I am going back and editing my old blogs (outside of Literacy Base) and hoping to improve its presence in search engine results and rankings.

I’ve given up on this blogging tip. It’s here for others if they want to know. Either some bloggers here have read it and ignored it or they never read it. There are posts that begin with a photo but still get approved by Admin / Support. So since they get published, I consider this discussion CLOSED.

EvilElf – Cute! Everybody loves babies, whether they’re humans or a part of the animal world. 🙂 |

Thanks for supplying these earnings per post calculations. I checked one time to see what one of my posts earned and I never checked again! Good to know! No way I could write 4 to 5 posts. I just don’t have that much to say! 🙂

By the way … is there such a thing as a purple peach? Found this adorable art at deviantart.com and just have to share it.

I try to sign in to Literacy Base almost every day. I never really calculated my time spent. I usually go through my eMails to see any new posts that were generated and make comments at the ones that interest me. Sometimes I check the groups to see if something is buzzing or there’s a question I can answer. I don’t so much measure the time spent as I check to see if my earnings are accumulating. As long as I see pennies adding up I write it off as time well spent. 🙂

That’s a smart way to handle a project that big! I just posted to your timeline on Facebook.

kaylar I don’t stay at HUBPages for the earnings. I stay because the site has been around for a while and still does have a good online reputation and because I’m too lazy to move my HUBs. In my case, I don’t think moving the content would accomplish anything. Plus I really don’t have a “new home” for the articles.

shaloo walia It’s a major decision and a huge project. However, I know of others who have done that as well. Try not to tire yourself out!! Hope the move turns out to be very profitable for you.

50 HUBs? That’s a lot! Where did you republish your content? Did you leave it at HUBPages? Are they Featured? If not people can’t find them via generic search results. (That’s what I heard.) Why don’t you try to publish here as a blog post?
|
|
I like both. But if I start typing up a response in a forum and it gets kind of long-winded, I change and see if it can be developed into a full blog post, submit it, and hope it gets approved. If it doesn’t, I’ll just come back, see if I can shorten it, and post it in the forum.
I try to publish as a blog post mainly because, if I had that much to say and I want to retrieve it later for reference, it’s easier for me to go to my profile, click “Posts” from the drop-down box and find it! Seems practical.
Also, as far as interacting? LiteracyBase is one of the few blogs where people actually leave comments at my posts. Most of my stand alone blogs are about anywhere from 2 to 5 years old and seldom does a visitor ever leave their “paw prints” (comments) to let me know they were there.
At LiteracyBase, whether forum discussion or blog post, there is interaction. That’s awesome!

Did not know the site was banned. That’s baffling. (???) At any rate, it’s not true that the site can’t earn. There are lots of Ad Sense alternatives out there. LiteracyBase uses Ad Sense and “other” means of generating revenues for this site. There should be no reason why PersonaPaper can’t do the same. (???)
