@bestwriter @kaka135 I firmly believe that parents and not grandparents should be in charge of bringing up children.
Grandparents either tend to be too lenient towards grandchildren and bribe them with things which totally spoils the personality of children. Most cannot keep an eye on children’s activities in a way parents can.
Grandparents s…[Read more]

Dua for cure from disease: It was narrated from Aa’isha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when any of us fell sick, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would wipe him with his right hand then say: “Remove the harm, O Lord of humankind and heal him, for You are the Healer and there is no healing except Your hea…[Read more]
Dua’ for Stress and Hardship:
Anas (ra) said that when Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. was faced with a serious difficulty, he would always supplicate,
“Ya Hayyu, ya Qayyumu, bi-rahmatika astaghithu”
(O the Living, O the Eternal, I seek help in Your Grace).”
Source: Tirmidhi
I recite this short dua often in times of stress and distress.

I have never spanked any of my children nor slapped them on face or body.
But sometimes if at toddler age, they threw a tantrum, I lightly hit their bottom (never too hard) but to make them stop crying loudly.
From a very young age, I tell my children if they are happy, I am happy and we exchange big smiles. Children like to make their parents…[Read more]

I think it is a big mistake not to plan for the future whether you are young and old.
As parents, we are also spending a lot of money on our children’s school fees and other necessities but I do not want to be dependant on them ever even if they are very obedient and supportive.
It is best to save money on a regular basis and find ways of…[Read more]

I am not fond of horror movies. They make me shiver and shudder when I am alone and I feel someone is standing behind me all the time.
I am sure my husband and daughter will love to watch this movie (they are the brave, adventurous souls of the family) but I will make sure I have some very necessary errand to do at that time 🙂 LOL

@haraka Even if we are born Muslims, I think understanding our faith and religion is a lifelong process.
I believe we should never stop questioning, never stop asking, never stop discovering and each day brings a little more light, joy and peace.
And there are times when we feel a little lost and then we need a prayer or a friend to lift us…[Read more]
