I’m leaving this message to all the people out there I don’t know if I’m going to send anybody but America needs to wake up if you vote for Donald Trump you’re making America look weak Donald Trump is nothing but a bully a spoiled brat money was given to him when he was a kid if he becomes president it’s going to show the world that that we are a pushover none of the world leaders will go she ate with them he will cause our country to go to war once again Donald Trump knows nothing about how to defend the USA from Terrace attacks so why are we even entertaining the idea of the fridge
-
The Whole world laughs at Trump. He’s uneducated, ill manner, stupid and a bully.
He can’t be elected and the Rep should be ashamed of themselves for letting him run for their party.

This is the first presidential election where I’m uneasy about both candidates. The situation is so bad, the thought has popped into my head: ‘Wonder if we could manage without a president for the next 4 years.’ Kid you not! In my entire life, I have never had that thought. But it came to me the other day. Yes. I admit it. I’m terrified of the outcome of the 2016 election, no matter who wins!
-
There is nothing particularly wrong with Hilary. The hype you get; the propaganda, the lies, etc have made her seem ‘unsavoury’. If one simple reads the record; the plain boring facts, she is quite alright. The remarkable thing is all the ‘spin’ put on things she’s done.
-
Had she never done those things, there wouldn’t be anything to put a “spin” on. However, as she said “it was mistake and/or bad judgment”. But I say: 40 years experience in the “political game” she should know her opponents are not going to let anything “questionable” she did just get overlooked as if it didn’t happen! She’s got some big question marks! Nevertheless, Hillary is not a person to underestimate. Even Trump himself said “she’s a fighter”. Hillary, in my humble opinion, would try to be the best POTUS she can be. She’s a genuine American patriot. But I would feel a sense of great relief, if I could prophesy for certain and say she will the best President ever! This is a scary election! That’s all I can say.
-
I think she’ll make an excellent president. I recall when Obama was running there was this rumour he was a Muslim, that he wasn’t born in America… and people were believing it. Fortunately, only the stupid believed it.
As a woman, the sexists object to her on the basis of her sex. And they will find or invent anything to stop her. Many people over the age of 50 are somewhat computer dunce. Many people, for example, are connected all the time. They never shut off the wifi. Now you would say, hey… you can’t go to sleep, even if you shut off your computer, with the wifi still on.. but people do.
-
I’m glad that as a non-American you have confidence in our democratic process and faith that things will turn out alright. Donald Trump doesn’t even have confidence in the process. Our voting process for the election is rigged, don’t you know? (I’m being sarcastic. If you make strong accusations like that, you should be able to back it up with hard core facts.)

I’m sorry but Hillary is just as worse. She has called people from the Middle East sand N*ggers, she has referred to Mexicans as taco bowl, Americans as deplorable, and worse. Not only has she done that but she continues to lie to the public on a daily basis. She destroys evidence. She has put people in harm’s way. She has funded terrorists or has provided arms to them. People have come up mysteriously dead after releasing information about the horrible woman. She speaks badly about women who has come out against her husband who has sexually assaulted them.
So quite frankly, I could careless about what Trump has run his mouth about. No one has died under Trumps watch. Trump has not given to terrorist. He does not protect a horrible person like Bill Clinton. So, yes I will be voting for Trump this November. I be damned if that evil woman gets elected.
-
Most of what you have written is untrue It is simple propaganda put forward by the Trump side.
-
The part about Hillary calling Americans “deplorable” is true. 🙂 She admitted it.

I read the quote; she called some…not everyone… not a specific race

I guess another way to look at this is “Hold your tongue” in certain situations and in this case, is one where he needed to hold his tongue. There have been times that I needed to stay quiet to keep from arguing.
-
Point is; all their lives Errol had provoked argument. Errol always did something like that paper shredder to get Winston to speak… but now, Winston was silent. So Errol wasn’t able to get the rise out of his brother so he could start a fight.

Fasting for one day I don’t find difficult. But there are some who fast for several days. I don’t know how they do it! I understand it may be for religious reasons or they have a statement or protest about a matter that’s important to them. But I still don’t see how they do it!
-
If you start the one day fast as I did, after a while you get a kind of control of it. I’ll be straight, when I broke my fast I really wasn’t hungry nor thirsty. I probably could have gone to sleep and woken and drank water… and not really been that hungry.

Perhaps there is something God put in our bodies that acts like an “adapter mechanism” so that we can survive without food longer than we even realize.

Aw darling friend I think she just wins because you think and talk about her. I hope you sort things with your girlfriend, it sounds very complex to me. Wish you beautiful day and lot of the happiness.

I think you got it wrong… the pig thing is an employee here.
-
oh in your company?
I am sorry you have to endure harassment.
I was in similar situation with my terrible coworker.
It was terrible.-
She spends more time looking arguments than working. I don’t know why she hasn’t been fired.

I agree it’s like a mutual agreement where when one starts to argue the other one should start. It’s like it comes natuarally. When someone argues or is constantly arguing there is a problem somewhere. If there is such a person that you have to keep dealing with its best to keep off because nothing you say will keep them quiet. When one starts an argument and the other person does not respond the argument will not go on because there will be no one to argue with
-
I made up my mind I’m not responding. I didn’t respond yesterday and today she stood outside my door talking loud… no response.
I’m not responding to her. Let her argue with herself.
-
-
LOL. The title of your post got my attention because it’s similar to an expression my late mother used to say to me. “It’s takes two to make an argument.” 🙂 Here’s the things with an argument. Figure out if it’s justified. By that I mean: ‘Did you cause it?’ I did not start it. I said “cause”. If it’s your fault you owe that person. If the problem is not on your side of the fence, don’t worry about it, unless that person is getting up in your face and may cause you harm or injury. In that case, you would have to take appropriate action to protect and defend yourself. Otherwise … ignoring them will take care of the matter, as far as you’re concerned. Who they mad at? Can’t be you! 🙂
-
Exactly.. who is she talking to? I’m not there. I’m not even looking at her. I think it should stop by tomorrow.
-
As I am making no response… it should stop
-
-
Yes. the pig like things exist in each and every society. What actually they want is to share their anger with others. They drag somebody into the pond they live in and try to find some solace. These are very peculiar personalities. The best way to deal with these people is to remain quiet or to maintain a distance from them. Even then they will not leave one. They will approach you with a hammer in their mouth and start shouting. How long should we tolerate? Another technique is to invite some unknown guest and to sacrifice him.
I think this is a psychological instability of mind of a person. Even then, the best way as you said is to keep them away or to keep ourselves away from these pig things.
-
You know exactly what you are saying. That is the situation. Just staying away from the pig thing is the only way to avoid the situation. There is no ‘normal’ here.
-
-
What an insightful post! Sometimes the best way to avoid an argument is not to be drawn into it as you say. There are times when walking away or ignoring the bait is an act of wisdom and courage. Before being drawn into an argument ask yourself: is it necessary? What good will it accomplish? People are drawn into useless arguments simply because they let their ego determine how they should respond. Some think that keeping quite is an act of cowardice and submission. But ignoring a person or walking away will deprive the “ping thing” of the audience that she craves for….

exactly…

Yes, that is exactly correct.

I have always considered myself fortunate to live in a country where English is the official language. However, I have always counted learning other languages as a plus. Watched a Korean drama and one of the men who worked with the merchant was Japanese and did not speak the language. In one scene the merchant comes in and finds the servant girl teaching the man how to speak Korean. He asks: “What’s going on?” The Japanese guy responds to the effect: “I got tired of being a dummy and not knowing what was going on.” 🙂 It doesn’t take a genius to know that a person who can speak more than one language has an advantage over a person who only speaks one language.
-
If Jamaicans could speak English, read it and write it, then fine. Go out in the street and babble in Patwa. Rap in it, roll in it. But when all you can speak is a pidgin like Patwa, well just look at the situaiton. How many Jamaicans can participate in a site like this?
If they can’t even write on a site like this, what are their job prospects?
-
You just said a mouth full! Most of the people I’ve met from Jamaica – who came to America – spoke English and were literate, so I had no idea it was such a big problem. The picture you paint is bleak! Can they even get access to a computer with the Internet? If so, there are many sites where they can teach themselves. If not, can they even get a book to read? Surely when they read they won’t see the words they speak! A determined person who wants to be educated will find a way. But if the person doesn’t see the need, then you can’t convince them no matter how much you preach to them. I have a friend who said one of his parents couldn’t read or write and the other one could barely read and write. One of his parents didn’t see the need for education. But one of his parents made sure he went to school and learned!! Thank God he had one parent in his corner!
-
People who left school in the 1970s had to speak, read, write, proper English. That was it. No way around it. Whether you were in bowels of Trelawney or on King Street in Town, everyone had to pass English, and it was G.C.E. English.
The ‘problem’ was that there were kids from the ghetto who went to school and did well. There were people who never went to High School but took the exams on their own and did well and qualified for University.
The Upper Class would find their children did not get in because the helper’s son did.
To prevent this, there was a drive, supported by the people, to push ‘patwa’. Right now, if you were in Jamaica you would hear a noise of babble in which you wouldn’t understand a word.
“Mididaseh a whayuado? Imseh whayouseh? Miseh whayuado?”
Now this is the run together of patwa… Mi did a seh…(I said) wha you a do? (what did you do?) Im seh (he said) wha you seh? (what did you say?) Mi seh wha yu a do?” I said what did you do?
As you can see, not only are the words mangled, but the words are run together so that miaseh sounds like a word when it is three words. It would be like typing wherewereyou?
This ‘branding on the tongue’ disqualifies people in the lower classes.
-
Yes. I understand you clearly now. Seems like a well laid out plan to keep a certain group of people down. You may say something and nobody listens. But somebody else who is influential or respected may say the same thing and then all of a sudden it become “the right thing to do”. Do you catch my drift? Are there no “people with influence” in Jamaica who can wake up the masses and make them see the value of communicating in a language that’s understand by most people in various parts of the world?

English is most important language all over the world due to four reasons:
English was originally the language of England, but through the historical efforts of the British Empire it has become the primary or secondary language of many former British colonies such as the United States, Canada, Australia, and India. Currently, English is the primary language of not only countries actively touched by British imperialism, but also many business and cultural spheres dominated by those countries. It is the language of Hollywood and the language of international banking and business. As such, it is a useful and even necessary language to know.
4 reasons why learning English is so important. 1. English may not be the most spoken language in the world, but it is the official language in a large number of countries. It is estimated that the number of people in the world that use in English to communicate on a regular basis is 2 billion!Sep 30, 2013
-
You have made the point perfectly.
-
-
English is the ‘Universal Language’ as French once was. By being able to speak good, if not perfect English, you widen your ability to gain employment, your ability to gain information. Jamaica has gone backwards in a totally false and invented ‘nationalism’
