Even now when I hear the word ‘picnic’ happiness surrounds me. I have organised and gone on several picnics during my younger days and it used to be fun all the way.
That was indeed clever of you to lure your kid. -
Yes, picnic teaches many things in life and I think new creative ideas come into mind while making picnic with friends out of home. Some only see company picnics as an expense, but when you really think about what they can do for you and your staff, it seems silly not to make the investment.
A company picnic changes your employees’ outlooks and, in some cases, it can change your own perspective on some of your work and responsibilities.
When you host a picnic with activities and fun, you are setting yourself up to learn a few things about your staff members. Not only will you find out personality traits, quirks, senses of humor and talents that you might not have known about before, but your staff members will also be learning the same things about their co-workers. This builds camaraderie, trust and friendship.
Sometimes you just need to get everyone together for purposes other than making money and driving profit to keep the fun around the office, warehouse or job-site alive and well.

Lee Ka..Good experience indeed. We may learn a great deal from such articles. Actually our kids want our attention. When they have it they are happy. When we do not pay any heed to their demands they think they are not given their bit of importance. So sometimes they become rude and irresponsible. Some of them suffer from inferiority complex which badly affects their personality. So we should be mindful of the fact that our children must take part in extracurricular activities.

Lee Ka.. your article reminds me one of my own experiences with my family. We were out on picnic. My younger brothers and sisters chose a place in the park. But the youngest one did not like the place saying that it was not clean. Actually some people who had been there for some time had left the place covered with litter. Disposable cups, cans and peels of fruit had spoiled beauty of the place. Our great mom started removing and collecting the litter. We all assisted her but the youngest one of the family was reluctant. We convinced him by telling him that we are all educated people and we know that it is our duty to keep these places neat and clean. In response, he said “It means those who covered the place with that litter are not educated”.We told him that either they are uneducated or they do not want any responsibility. He was satisfied for the time being and he actually helped us in his own way.

@asuny. I too want to see many joining here. This is a site that has paid twice and I am sure they will the the third time.
We should give this site time as they are still in the process of ironing out and producing a state of the art site.
I also hope to see some new faces here, hopefully that they will write, not just joining forums and asking for friendship.
I am glad to say that Literacybase had been a blessing to me since blogjob is at a “frozen” status right now.
My experience at this site has been positive. But I have not been here for very long. Here is one of the reasons why some don’t want to sign up for Literacy Base. They feel that they don’t have control over their content. However, the terms are spelled out. So if you don’t agree with The Agreement, then you should not join. It states plainly at the bottom of the page: “All rights reserved by LiteracyBase”. If you’re OK with that, then join! It’s a nice community. 🙂
