As you rightly said this mind, reasoning, and imagination all depends upon the strength of the Soul.
Now the point is how to strengthen the soul?
The light makes it strong. Will it automatically make it strong? Every soul is given an opportunity to make it strong. What are the tool useful for this? Again here the tools are mind and reasoning only.
To have good thoughts, to speak nice words, refraining from the activities that cause sorrow to others, through regular discourses with eminent people in the society, maintaining a well-disciplined life etc. will make the mind attract more divine light.
One interesting aspect that should be kept in mind is that all the above things should be validated and should be put to the test by reasoning only.
Thus all these things are intertwined and one needs a good understanding of the subject which will not come easily to a person but through the blessings of a Guru only.
That is why the importance of GURU OR MASTER IS always holds the greatest place on the ladder of importance in gaining knowledge.

We all must keep in mind that human soul is the major element in human body that keeps thoroughly control over mind, spirit and body including imaginations. One more thing I tell my readers that angels live in human mind in forms of imaginations and conceptions.
Gurus and priest and magicians perform all wonder or have performed in the past on the ground of soul not mind and imagination because human soul has power to expand like muscles. two things may improve human soul power one is trust in God and the second is fear of God. Modern men have lost these two things.
What are thought nothing but the feeding of angels in words and what are words nothing but the tools of expressing human thoughts on earth. Words are the children of human soul and the sons of angels living in our brain.

I always say that the most attractive part of my body is my mind. I value intellect and knowledge and always find ways of stimulating my mind and keep it fresh and healthy through food and exercise. Also by being influenced by persons known to be good for soul and social and spiritual circle. Otherwise i will be putting my mind at risk for destruction and evil thoughts and degeneration.
it also struck me when you mention in your above comment that we have angels giving us words and thoughts. I think the mythical name for such an individual is a muse. I first heard this reference and dramatic presentation in a television show and it showed how influenced and dependent we are on such individuals. by what you said these mythical beings may have some reality.

Faith, hope and Love(charity) of these three love is the most important. Yet to love we must have faith and hope for good and better things. indeed Jesus always says your faith has healed you and this is an example for all of us because those individuals who were healed did not have much to believe in. But they believe that Jesus the healer and they had faith in him. So too must we.
