When I have a cold or I feel the onset of a cold I make a big pot of homemade chicken soup! Ingredients: (1) 1 WHOLE bulb of garlic (cloves can either be diced or left whole) (2) 3-4 small to medium washed chicken thighs or 1 washed large cut up chicken breast (skinned or unskinned) (3) 1 large onion diced (white, purple, yellow) (4) Two large cans of chicken or vegetable broth. (5) 1 half stick of butter or 3 tablespoons of EVOO (extra virgin olive oil). (6) A hand full of chopped celery stalks, and chopped up fresh parsley, salt, pepper, a teaspoon of Accent Food/Flavor Enhancer or season the way you want to. (7) 1 cup of brewed green or black tea (8) 1 whole squeezed fresh lemon or lime Cook/ boil chicken parts for a half an hour with butter, then add all the other ingredients. Cook on low to medium heat for an hour and a half or until meat is thoroughly cooked….Serve warm/enjoy!
This homemade remedy for a cold has surely helped me ease my cold symptoms and helped me fight my cold quicker.
