@Ruby ,
I love moringa or malunggay as we call it here in the Philippines, not only because of its nutritious values but also because it is delicious when cooked in coconut milk or even when you mix it in tamarind soup base dish.
Actually, malnourished children in public schools here in the Philippines are said to fed with the nutri-Ban (a big round bread) made of flour and with the powdered moringa leaves partnered with powdered milk. Other dishes with moringa were fed to the children everyday at school and even in daycare centers. After a month of continuous feeding of foods with moringa, the children were weighed and they had increase in their weights.
This wonder veggie can help alleviate malnutrition too, it being a very nutritious food.

It made me hungry when you mentioned the dish wherein you cook it with coconut milk, so really yummy! And I remembered Mama Edith with this kind of dish.
I did not know that the nutri-ban has moringa as an ingredient. An additional information for me, thanks!

I like moringa leaves, I boil it then put it in a blender and turn it into a smoothie so it is easier to eat(drink) and so as to maximize its nutritional effect. I do not add anything, just water.
-
How does it taste? I suppose it’s bitter tasting.
For me, I better eat it because the leaves itself helps us with our metabolism.
Does the smoothie give the same effect too?
-
I haven’t tried making it into smoothie.
Mostly we make it as a viand by combining it with young papaya fruit (the green one) and boil it and adding fish paste to taste.
But for some people, they have an allergic reaction with these moringa leaves.
I once had an officemate that everytime he eats these leaves, it made him sick and gives him a headache.
Maybe lesson learn here is that, test everything before taking it to your system.

I believe it’s food for the poor. I believe that God created this planet so that everybody can live off of it and survive. We just need to learn to eat what’s good for us. Isn’t it kind of ridiculous that politicians have to initiate bills to get others to grow good food for people? But this is the world we live in. At least, some constructive action is being taken for the good of the people.
-
I truly agree with you. God created this plant so that people can have access of this 24/7.
I know, it really is ridiculous to make a bill out of it. Maybe because the legislator sees really the importance of propagating this plant to help everyone.

does it grow for ever and dont need any care, everything needs food and oxygen, you dont have to planet or anythings

books are so nice so good and its new life that you can hide in or enjoy at times, but anime i dont like , of course we all like one or two things, but books all the people love and its international. books and i say real books not online, becaue online is really weird and book with paper is really different thing, when you reach a page and stop there you have to bind it so when you come back to read you know page number you have to continue from, its awesome really
-
I both agree with you, Shavkat and Dealio.
Although e-books now abound and can carry as much as 1,000 books in our gadgets ,I prefer reading the hard copy books.

It is good your daughter love books. Yes, children should be exposed to books even at early age so they would love reading. Nowadays it seemed that young people read less, or some of them just read from the internet.

I had seen plants like that before, but I did not know if it’s the exact plant like what you posted here. But it really looks the same. Yes,it is considered a weed, and we do not know that it has many health benefits.
But how can one use it? Is it being cooked? Isn’t it poisonous or safe to eat?
-
i searched the internet and some countries really propagate it for business purposes. They dry the fruit like that of raisins or prunes.
I tasted the green fruit, the one inside the one a took a picture of, and i am still alive, so i think that it is ok.
I am still waiting for the fruits to ripen so i will know what is its taste.
My husband will try to plant it to place that will not bother the rice plants.
I will keep the update in the near future.
thank you for your comment and questions.

@Ruby Ate Rubs, this fruit is I think what we would pluck in the field and we pop it in our forehead. Though, we would pick it up in a shrub not a tree.
If it isn’t that one we pop in our forehead, I certainly have seen this.
Certainly, this fruit can be of great help for those who got sick with prostate cancer, like my father and father-in-law.
I hope further studies could be done to validate its healthy claims.
Indeed, some things are taken for granted. They only will realize that it is important, when it is gone already.
So, where is Rodel here now Ate Rubs?
-
I think the one that you pop in your forehead is the other variety of this golden berry which has 3 very small fruit inside its lanter-like fruit.
this golden berry has only one larger fruit inside. I think they already have a study about this fruit, but since i cannot copy what they wrote, for fear of being charged with plagiarism, I just mentioned some of its health benefits to tickle our sense of awareness.
Regarding Rodel, I will follow up on him.
Thanks for the invite to this site. although I think the pay is a little bit low, for a starter like me, I will charge it more to experience rather than the pay I can get from my submission of articles.
