Superstition varies country to country.I think even a superior country like America people also have superstition. Superstition dwells to man because others had met something bad as coincidence to the belief, that is why it may not fade as years go by.In the country of my birth, there are so many superstitious beliefs that mostly guide people to do right acts, but in reverse to the real world for they do not follow like excuse me. They are afraid of the none existent rather than to those humans alive and existing. If a person says excuse me to a fictitious existence of a bad spirit why can’t others say excuse me to the living humans? Maybe they are not afraid, they are only afraid to those having imaginative powers.
-
As time goes on, new generations do not believe or practice those superstitious beliefs. But in some areas, there are still a lot of it. Sometimes I observe it sometimes not. It is interesting to know they have the same one in New Zealand!
-
My 4 sister and I grew up not believing any of the superstitious beliefs. My father being a lawyer then would always refute any belief that we would say is being believed by old people.
My mother would believe some but as always would be told by my father that they have no scientific basis.
So far, we all grew up well, even if we didn’t believe any of the superstitious beliefs.
-
@Dina, that is always how life goes when our father is a lawyer. My father was a retired military official and was always assigned in remote and weird places even entered a cave to rest with his men and nothing had been observed. Superstition is just a matter of thinking because a person believes in it and afraid of it though in reality there is no negative effect in their lives. Somehow we cannot also believe those believers for they lack education and orientation and strong beliefs of God, Those who are close to God as being religious are not easily be affected with their surrounding for God is their instrument against all evils and odd .
-
Superstition continues to exists as long as there are believers and culture correlates with it. Well anyway, this is better than committing a crime. This kind brings people in unison and bond.

‘you want more creative opportunities’?? LOL. LOL. You’re really know how to make me laugh. Substitute “lucrative” for the word “creative”. Sometimes it works out for them. Sometimes not. It does depend on the opportunities. It’s true if you get hooked on a show and they change cast, you keep watching it. But even though I keep watching the program, I find myself always comparing the new cast to the original cast that I really liked. The different cast members make the grade with me. MI-5 is the only show that ever kept changing its cast and I didn’t mind it all. That was an awesome. The only member of the cast that they took out that made me really mad was the lady who played “Ruth” (Nicola Walker). I really liked her. When she died I was furious!!
-
Typo. The different cast members make the grade with me. Meant to say “The new cast members don’t make the grade with me.”
-
I find that although I might have liked a particular actor, once he or she is gone, the show doesn’t suffer. The new actor fills the space and the show continues.

The actor/actress who gives that excuse usually becomes unemployed. Think of those who were on Grey’s Anatomy in the beginning. Where are they now? When was the last time they worked?
Even those who claim to leave for some role in a movie… what movie? It is just a lack of sense. It isn’t anything else. It is as if they have a fantasy of hundreds of producers banging on their door.
-
My son watched Grey’s Anatomy. I was not a fan. I liked “Death in Paradise”, in the beginning. But even though I continue to watch it, I don’t really like the “replacements”. For me, it’s that way with a lot of TV shows I view regularly. It’s silly but I get attached to certain characters.
-
Greys began highly rated, was a little stupid, went down then started to pick itself up. The original 5 main characters; Meredith, Izzi, Alex, George and Christina wound up… Izzi was nominated for an award and refused because she didn’t think her character deserved it so she was written out. George got into an argument with Isiah Washington over homosexuality, and Isiah was dispatched to please the gay community and George was killed to get rid of him. Christina who had a very good role and won awards was one of the ‘creative opportunities’ morons so hasn’t been seen since 2012.
On Death In Paradise, the star’s wife couldn’t take the heat so went back to England, and he followed her. So I guess he’s joined the dole.

I hope children too be respectful to their parents. This time children do not see how their parents work hard for them to have something to eat and pay for the bills plus education this time is so high like a crazy thing that cannot e avoided.Children ought to love their parents for no matter what their love for their children is pure and no single day that they do not think about you and about how you will become successful. You have to pay their kind gestures and love to you.
-
Oh my, grade 6 and he is already taking drugs? Who introduced it to him by the way? The parents didn’t even notice that he was into it?
Then it means indeed that they don’t have time to bond with him so that’s why they never even noticed it.
Sad, that the parents keep working so they can give their child a bright future, yet their son has become an addict. And didn’t they notice any furniture or things at home to have been losing and think that it could already be their son selling them?
Sometimes, the parents only thinks of making themselves rich because they thought that giving their children luxuries is already enough to make them happy. No, it’s not that way.
We have to give them our time and attention. It’s what makes their hearts swell with happiness and turn to drugs to find momentarily happiness.
-
@Dina, that was so sad by the way for having my nephew a drug addict at a young age. His parents did not notice it but is it that i was able to sense the way their son looks at people seems no bearing, no meaning so dull. We wonder at home why that teacher was able to able to teach for many years in an Ateneo in Cagayan de Oro city. That was a very devastating day learning our nephew was jailed because of an offense that cannot be done bu=y hi should he be in a normal thinking. drugs truly destroys future, he cannot be gird for fear his pusher may just turn in ad tempt him again, plus this time under our new president he is not safe if seen using this bad drug. he will surely be put behind bars.
-
It is so sad to hear about such incidents when young people were hooked into drugs due to circumstances that boil down to parents who lack time for their children. They should know who their children’s friends are; they should monitor him even from afar or not directly meddling in their activities.
Shaming them in front of classmates is a big no for parents who aimed to discipline them. They should know how to guide their children in a manner that is acceptable and the most effective one.

Based on medicinal value, coconut water can improve the immune system, helps in digesting foods, and improve the overall health of the body. You could just replace drinking water with coconut water and still maintain a healthy body.
-
I love the taste of Coconuts, I haven’t had one in a long time as they are so expensive here. It is truly amazing how many uses that coconuts have whether it’s for nourishment, beauty or health.
-
That is true , and thank you so much for adding some important facts of coconut tree. It is indeed a tree of life. There are countries no coconuts planted. Maybe their climate disallow them to grow coconuts.Like in New Zealand, when I visited that country, I was looking for cocos none were found.
-
@Tracy, that is true this simple creature is so amazing in its features of heath benefits.Coconuts are sold here at a cheap price. Why is it expensive there because they are exported to your country form Asian countries. I do not know if there are coco its in China for when I taught in China I have not seen a single coconut there in Chang Chun city, North China.
-
I love coconuts! It is really a very versatile and useful tree. Thanks, I only knew now that it’s roots can be used to alleviate rheumatism pains. I will recommend it to people who have aching legs due to arthritis or rheumatism.
-

No, I didn’t pull them anymore when they have grown aplenty. I just dye them. Even now, I just dye those grey hairs that is visible. But not underneath because anyone they cannot be seen underneath.
Indeed, grey hairs can really make us look so aged. In my case, where most of my officemates are so much younger than me, I really have to dye my hair. At least , I look younger when I have my hair dyed with darkest brown. I do the dyeing, myself.
It not a shame to show other people that you have white hair. It is merely a sign that getting older not getting uglier or unattractive. One should accept the fact that everyone will turn old and it is just a matter of time before a person turn old. But of course if you want to dye your hair to look younger it is not a problem because it is you that made the choice regarding your hair not others.
@Dina, hehehe I thought you will laugh too, at least you not pull your white/grey hair for the more they grow incessantly, forever. My co teacher never dyed her hair. She lets her hair transformed to grey, and you know what, her hair still look good, so thick and healthy. I asked her and she said she never likes to dye her hair for that is normal to have hair turned grey, but one day we met and was so surprised to see her hair dyed hahaha, how I wished to say she is a liar, but that was 5 years ago she retired as chairman of the math department.
At least i know she lied me and herself plus the reality that in this generation we can cover other things for the sake of our own satisfaction. Thanks friend and welcome back.
@Ngiam Kee Wei ,Very well said, thank you for sharing and adding some nice thoughts about having hair turn grey which is normal and no way to be ashamed of facing the reality Everyone passes this stage unless your hair like our neighbor never turns grey despite so old already, they are gifted maybe they have strong hair nerve system.
