@grecy095, oh definitely it probably does affect your relationships. I think that is why I was attracted to alcoholics, they were abusive. I was even attracted to men that were 10 years older, looking for a “father” figure. It’s hard to get over, when you’re around abuse, because you think that is “normal.” 🙁 |
@grecy095, oh< i know what you mean now!! 😉 I don’t know if I would want to wait on celebrities either, besides I know NOTHING of fashion!! lol |
@shohana, being a police officer is NOT a silly dream. It is a very dangerous job, I’m sure if you could put your mind to it, you could be very good police woman!! 😉 @grecy095, wanting to see celebrities is NOT shallow! I think being a sales person at a clothing store in the mall would be fun, I’m sure you would get discounts!! 😉 |

@peachpurple, hope you got help for the gallstones? I can relate to gallbladder problems, in fact I had mine removed. @grecy95, yes that would be bulimia. That’s what I would do. At first I made myself throw up, then it just became automatic every time I ate I would just throw up. I knew no matter what I ate I was going to get fat and I didn’t ever want o get fat again. So, when I would eat…I could see me being fat again and I didn’t want that. Now food is my friend! 😉 Or I just don’t care what other people think of me. |

@grecy095, absolutely!! Seeing a parent being abused can also cause problems in one’s life as well. Some times we fall into situations that are abused parents go through, thinking that that is the way all women should be treated and that’s NOT right either. Glad you mentioned this, because you witnessed abuse to your mother and that can have effects on you. |

@morgoodie, exactly, some times the children put their parents in nursing homes and then NEVER come see them. This not only happens in nursing homes but with mentally challenged adults as well. The family puts them some place where they’re taken care of and then are “ashamed” and never see them again. If the younger generation would visit with the elderly they could learn so much more and learn compassion. Often times individuals do get depressed and so the nursing home may have a dog that they have. Maybe a dog in some cases is better interaction than the family members that never come to see them!! |
@kaka135, yes the parents got along with their children. The children apparently could take seeing their parent in a nursing home, yet they were unable to take care of them. Maybe the child felt guilty about sending their parent to the nursing home, but why NOT come to see them to make sure they are taken care of. As far as their health issues, if family was more involved and was there to see their parent’s improvements or health issues, it would be taken care of easier and maybe quicker. I’m NOT saying nursing homes aren’t good, but some children don’t get involved..they just put them in a nursing home..out of sight out of mind. As, I said I worked in nursing homes and some of these people just want some one to listen to them and be company for them, when they have NO family. Our course there are activities and one on one interaction, but not as much as they need… not enough for staff, when family should be there. |
@morgoodie, as a parent all those interests you have as careers you perform as a parent, we just don’t get paid to do it!! lol Yes, I thought psychology was an interesting field as well!! |
@grecy095, yes sissy..I use to work in nursing homes. Some families NEVER see the people that they put in nursing homes. That’s why there is such a demand for people to work in nursing homes as well. You don’ t get to spend personal time with each individual that is there because most nursing homes are understaffed. A “loving” nursing homes means NOTHING to the individual if they don’t have family members that come see them!! It’s sad!! 🙁 |
@shohana, may I ask why a police? Nothing wrong with that, but just wondered if some one in your family was on the police force? @cookiemonster, I wanted to be a paralegal at one time. Glad your in the law field. @kaka135 sounds like we have a lot in common! 😉

Actually it would depend on my mood. I might just be civil to that person…treat them like a stranger. That’s in my “nice” mood. Otherwise, I would go to the opposite corner from them and ignore them. |

@thinker, I try to eat healthy and have been lucky not to have many health concerns. God is my healer. |
The one who I put above all others is God. He’s the reason I’m alive and he has a reason for me being here. I don’t judge Him and I try to follow in His footsteps. When I feel I’m going astart=y from Him, I ask Him to guide me back. He does perform miracles!! |
I use to, but promises are made to be broken. I just ask for help and in return I “do” things that God would be proud of ne for doing. After all actions speak louder than words!! |
