The youths of yesterday are far better than today, agree,or disagree?

Why I am saying this to you simply because I want to get sympathy from you.If you are in the academe, you will surely agree with me that the youths of yesterday are far better that the youths of today. How often did I tell myself about my observation of our university library, so very few students come to study and do research.In the classroom, only very few buy book for the subject. This day, I told my students that are very far from the students of yesterday where they want to flock in library.Their minds were filled with learning. They have good manners and right conduct.They value life. They appreciate beauty and art.They know the meaning of respect to elders and teachers. This day, I lost my patience when my students all opened their cellular phones to Goggle search the possible answer of our quiz in Physics and Mathematics. I was also shocked to see them transferring from chair to another. I felt my blood boiled. I cannot avoid to feel angry to my students copying answers to their classmates that excel in class. I caught them, so I got their paper and tore them and threw in the trash can. I told them to go home and drop the subject. I cannot believe the attitude of my students enrolled in Electronics Communications Engineering. I reported the matter to dean of discipline and Guidance office to counsel them and administer a drug test. Last 4 months ago at random drug test was conducted and out 500 first batch, 15 take drugs and they are dismissed in school for they are dangerous.

Yes, the youths of past were more genius than the youth of today because the youths of past made Egyptian Pyramids and its mystery is still maintained no one could open its mystery how they built the huge pyramids. Today’s youths are just lover and nothing else. They pursue just money and woman and nothing else. Soon the whole world will find its results because the training of character and the training of education both are faulty in present days all over the world. |

@jhsayyar, That is a very brilliant answer and share. Today’s youths are so relax.They are like having their pretty setting. Yes, their concern is love, lust, sex. They do not fear God. Aborting a fetus is just an ordinary thing for them. Deciding a plan is not shared to parents that is why many joined the international terrorism because their parents never know and they never research about the possible danger. They have strong belief in themselves that they can stand alone. Albert Einstein may laugh and mock at the youths of today. They cannot even apply perfectly the tables of multiplication.They rely on calculator. When I was in Grade 3, our teacher forced us to memorized the tables of multiplication and memorized the chemical elements and symbols.This time, they seem shocked about the different symbols and felt relieved when referred the answer to Goggle search. My goodness, what happens to their minds from scholarly to be- to morons. They will be like a laughing stock and a big shock to the world. Where are you youths? Where are your talents in mathematics and English? You are so bright in selfie, texting and Dota games. What can you contribute to the world when you no longer read books authored by great authors. The books are the solid foundation for change. Teachers have big problems this time in our university.Why? There might be numerous flankers now that the grade computation is changed which is 70% passing. I hope my students learn a lesson this day when I shouted at them and threw all their papers having answers from Goggle. |

The students of yesterday were trained by devoted teachers and dutiful parents. But, today’s students are trained by technology and society as well . The students of yesterday had no access to the technology. Had it been there the situation would have been different. The teachers were devoted and they were interested in teaching their students and make their better citizen of the society. Are we finding these teachers today? No. ..is a definite answer. Today’s the students have to learn nothing from their teachers, except to take up a demonstration for hike their scholarships, mess fees etc., This they learned from their teachers who went on clamoring for the hike of their salaries . What the teachers of the present day do is sticking on to only one place till his retirement. Giving money for interest or to do a small business in the area in which he works. What are the present-day students have to learn from their teachers now? They got technology and powerful gadgets at their disposal and can make the best use of them and can have his doubts clarified. I have seen personally some teachers who are not suitable for the profession even. How can a teacher expect respect when the situation is prevailing like this? The students of yesterday were not friendly. They were not social and were not exposed to the outside world freely. They more you show respect to your teacher the more you will be rewarded. What is the use of it? They were all not open minded. They were not moving freely with the ladies who are their own colleagues. Instances are not lacking when they were teasing them on the road, making vulgar comments on them But today’s students are highly exposed to the world events. They know how to talk and what to take in the social dynamics. They know a lady is also an equal power like man She can compete with a man in any social sphere. They move friendly, they visit each others’ house Share their feeling Talk to their parents nicely which was totally absent in the students of yesterday. They were taught what not to do instead of what should be done. The students of yesterday were not allowed to travel or tour independently and increase their knowledge. But , the students of today are quite fast and more dynamic. They question, argue and debate and try to understand what is what. One more good things with the students of Today is that they are no more consider themselves as rivals of their lady colleagues. They even take care of them if anybody makes silly comments on them. Whenever they find their lady colleagues lonely standing in any place they inquire about her and even help her as a friend. Are they not socially forward? We can not call them indisciplined. This is exactly what a discipline and social responsibility is

@sivasubrahmanyam shatdarsanam, Well, you are free to overthrow the contention that I am proposing here that students of yesterday were far better than students of today. I based my differences from my actual experience in class as a Math professor, and I want to tell you that students’ minds as of this time are almost empty.Yes, they can socialize and know much about the world for they can google what they want right away, but never have all those learned felt as valuable for their development, NO. It’s only their eyes that see , but brain, blank. If you are a teacher you will know well how we sacrifice for the sake of the students, they to acquire knowledge and degree so when they are old, there is something to eat during his old age. |

I suggest to you on your next class day to take up and electronic device each student has when they enter your classroom. Of course, you will hand them back at the end of class but not before then. If they don’t agree to the terms then they shouldn’t be allowed in class. They have no respect for the teacher and for the fellow classmates. Their parents have failed them in teaching them respect. The youth of today are crybabies that believe things should be given to them instead of working hard for it. |

@EvilElf, Thank you friend, but I already had done that in class, but I promised myself not to do it again because, I saw one student with a very sharp look on me. I was so terrified that I returned back the gadget to him. Then I had learned that the said male student was under the influenced of drug just recently when the university administration had conducted an on the spot drug test to students. That said student was expelled in the university.That was the karma to that student for having a very sharp look in me that almost killed me in fear. In addition to that fear and scare , few months ago in one of the public high schools in our city, one 15 years old student stabbed his teacher severally to death in front o his classmates.The only reason was the gadget that was confiscated by the said teacher. The criminal was told severally not to text during lecture for the next days , it will be their 2nd quarter exam.The student did not mind the teacher’s request, so the teacher was forced to confiscate the cellular phone and placed it inside her table drawer. While the teacher was writing on the board for examples how to solve some math lessons, the criminal just stood up and without pity stabbed the teacher.The criminal is now in jail and will serve the crime committed for his whole life. Under the Duterte administration, 9 years old can be convicted, so that’s it 15 years old, to rot in jail and hell. The boy takes rugby since age 8and the parents did not alarm the teacher, so the parents are also in jail this time to serve for 12 years in prison. After that incident, I never confiscate gadget , but give auto minus 20 points of their existing grade. |

@kaylar, At least there are many of us now who believed that youths before are far better than youths of today especially. This time we have the fastest technology, but worst so many young wanted to explore.They wanted to experience and wanted to know if there is really God. They make technology as their God.Many are influenced with illegal drug and never mind at their future for they believe that there is no future and the fact or reality they believe right is their capacity to Goggle search hehehe. |
