According to my reading in the Bible, there was only one language, the pure Adamic language which the people were using. There was no other language during that time. As the people were tired of living of depending much of the mercy and the will of the God, they wanted to reach the residence of God. They built the Tower of Babel with the intention of reaching God’s place of abode.

They’re almost done. The tower was too high and a few distances could be enough to reach heaven. Those courageous and brave men carried their bows and arrows with them while climbing the tower. While they reached the top, they started aiming their bows loaded with arrows to the sky and then released the arrows. They did it several times. Until they’re noticed by God. Their languages were confounded. They didn’t understand each other. They departed separate ways without to various parts of the earth.

What do you think if it didn’t happen?

Stories of the Hebraic foundation of the faith that the great, great grandfathers retold to generations after.  These Biblical events and oracles of God entrusted to the Hebrews which they have recorded faithfully, “for our learning”. Thanks for the reminder.

@wyzdatjosh, you’ve not answered my question. The Bible contains the history which has never been told before. It is a good source of words of wisdom, reproaches, instructions, among others. Let’s go back to the question I raised: what would happen if the ancient people in the Bible hadn’t been confounded of their language? Before it was only one pure language, that is the Adamic language. But after they’d built a tower to reach God’s residence, their language had been distorted and they couldn’t understand each other.

If the confounding of the Adamic language (I suppose, an ancient dead language ) hasn’t happened, then, there wouldn’t be the NEED of recording in the Hebraic language on which the Scriptures is written by and by Hebrew authors straight from God’s instructions.

First time the word “Hebrew” word was mentioned was about Abraham, in his time. The Hebrew Scriptures was written to record, so that generations  can understand Yahweh, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in Hebrew language.

That’s my take on your question.

Or simply, you and I wouldn’t be talking modern English, but the Adamic language that might still be alive and well. 🙂 That is, if God had decided to preserve it. But He didn’t.
