In some point in our lives, some colleagues are like a menace. They tried to pull us down just to attain their personal agenda. That is, to be promoted and have a higher position in the company. Do you consider listening of what they say or ignore them? Others would just smile and wait for an opportunity to get back at them. It means, they are waiting for the other colleagues to commit mistakes and back bites them as a sign of revenge. There are so many instances that happen in the workplace especially working with competitive employees. But then, they do some actions that are not acceptable.

hmm…this one is tough. it is best to leave it alone for a while and come back to it when both of you have a cool head. Another thing to do is to send an e-mail and ask for the criticism to be explained in that manner so that it is documented.

@Shavkat, That is what we call crab mentality by some Filipinos. There are many of them. They do not want others to rise.That usually happens in a private firm, but not in the government firm for in the government offices, you have to labor so you can reach the top ; unlike in private offices full of mentally sick employees. All we have to do is to mind our business and make good in a work place where we are destined by our fate.

@oksummer It is better to have this concern be documented. In some point, an employee doesn’t have the right to criticize one’s work unless they are the higher ups. Regardless, it is also good to report this in Human Resource Department. This is a serious matter and it needs to be based on the standard practice of work ethics.

@cely I do agree on that. Some Filipinos had this kind of mentality and I am not into it. On regards to our government system, it doesn’t happen with this kind of issues. But, the most unfair act within the government agencies is “nepotism”. I had worked in one of the government agency before. I filed resignation because I cannot endure the old system of our government.
