About those circumstances that could have killed you but didn’t. There are many of them that are medical like mine but the word Survivor is much broader than just medical. It could be military, family, home invasion, relationships….it goes on and on and it takes YOU to be strong enough to survive it. Tell me about it, lets talk!

I am a survivor of being in coma for 3 months due to diabetes type 1. I was diagnosed at the age of 3 and no one knew anything about anything that was going on. I got really chunky, and one day I just fainted with my glucose number soaring high. The beautiful thing about it is that I survived. It was like a movie scene, I woke up on Christmas day to the ringing bell of a santa clause coming my way to deliver my gift. And I still remember what is was, it was like a plastic vase with sand that had all of the colors of the rainbow.

Diabetes is a common disease that we all have heard about and it is quite scary when you think about it especially in kids. But I thank God that is a condition that can be controlled and taken care of with a lot of dedication. Many have fallen with this sickness but many have also survi as it like you. |
