Ghosts

I think I have always believed in ghosts for most of my life. I never really had too many experiences with them and have never seen one, but just because I have not seen one does not mean that they do not exist. When my daughter was close to 2 years old she was looking down the hallway and started asking me why the boy was sick as she was pointing towards where she was looking. I was afraid to turn around. She also seen something hovering over the bed in the corner of the room. She kept asking me what is that and pointing to the corner of the ceiling. I could not see anything. Once my son got older, he kept telling me about the man standing in the doorway of the bedroom. He could not sleep with his head facing the door because of the man he kept seeing there every night. He also told me that he could see grandma folding towels in the hallway. Both of my parents had passed before both of my children were born, so they never knew them. He also would tell my sister about the boy who was the same age as him that he could see and that his name started with an X. However, at the time my son would confuse the starting and the ending of words, so when he said that it was the starting of the name it was actually the end of the name. We had a cousin that was killed in a car accident when he was three (my son’s age at the time he told us about the boy) and his name was Max. He definitely had no way of knowing about this boy who died by the name of Max. This is the one piece that really made me stop and think that he was really able to communicate with them. Now that he is older he does not see these things anymore.

did Max and your parents stayed in the same house before? Otherwise, how did they appeared in your household since you had mentioned that your kids had never seen them before. Sometimes the spirit of the deceased follows the current living humans due to the past.
I have never encounter one yet, touch wood! However, my mom did.
She said in our old house, every morning at 5am in the morning, she could see a man dressed in white suit standing the the gate of our house. When she got closer, the spirit disappeared. He appeared very often until one day my mom seek the priest of our Church for advice. It seems that the spirit might had lived under our house before. Finally she found out that beneath the whole residential area , the place that we stayed was a graveyard of the WW2 deceased bodies. hence, the man might had been not pleased that the place where his body is resting right now happened to be our downstairs toilet bowl. thanks for your share |

When I was younger, I have heard stories from my aunt. We always loved listening to scary stuffs, but as I grew up I wondered if they were real. I shrugged the thought of it but love watching horror movies.
It wasnt until I was in College when I started to hear things in our house. I never told anyone about it then. But one “medium” whom my mom met told her the existence of some spirits in our home. They are not harmful so I wasnt afraid that much. But when I get scared of unusual noises, I pray the Lord’s Prayer then I calm down. |

@peachpurple No, they had never stayed at the same house and I am not sure why my son would see him although the house I live in was my parents house. Both of my parents are deceased so maybe through my parents, the boy was here and found a connection with my son because he could see him. I am not altogether sure of how this works. My family has always been real close and I always feel a connection to relatives living and dead. I can see why the spirit would not be happy if his grave had a house built on it. I think sometimes the dead just cannot find peace and they may feel disrespected if there is a house on their grave. @jentleheart I love hearing about scary things too although I cannot watch horror movies. I love watching all the true ghost shows on TV and I always watch new ones that come out. I like to read about real ghost stories too and will read any that I can get my hands on. I feel that my parents are still in the house and I am not afraid of them since I know that they mean me no harm. |

I believe in ghosts too. I have a few Gumanthongs at home. They are the statues or amulets of ghost children made by Buddhist monks. The monks chant and teach them Buddha teachings, and ask them to help their “parents” who will adopt them. I have written a ghost story based on this Gumanthong concept. It turns out to be 1700 words short story! Perhaps you can use your knowledge and belief of ghosts to write a short story too. |

@scheng1 That is quite interesting and have not heard of this before. I would love to read the story. Is it something that you posted here? I had wrote a little bit about my son’s experience when I was at Blogjob. But have not done that here. I do have other experiences dealing with the paranormal but not necessarily ghosts. I may have to try writing a short story and see how it goes. Thanks for the suggestion and introducing me to something new like the Gumanthong concept. I will have to find out more about this. |

@morgoodie yes, that happens to be my first blog post here. I just wanted to test out how much the payment would be for a very long post. The result is 35 cents! If I had known that the payment maxed out at 35 cents for anything more than 1000 words, I would have split the story and uploaded as several posts. As it is, when I wrote, I split it into many chapters for ease of writing, and reading. It had taken me less than an hour because I was living my dream in my story. |

@scheng1 I research for the gumanthongs and I got scared. It looks creepy. Me, I experience having goosebumps and feeling that there is someone watching me and then a cold air will be felt. I and my family have a lot of experienced with Doppelganger, I guess this is about your double. I remember my mother was talking to my double at home and I just arrived home. I able to saw her talking to someone in the bathroom. I asked her who was there inside and her eyes went big and asked if just arrived home, I nodded. She then told me “then who I was talking to?”…creepy. |

haha @grecy095 That looks like a great material for a ghost story. You sure scare me enough! I wonder if your mother lost any sleep over this experience! Personally I have no feeling about the presence of any spirit at all. That is why I have to use my imagination to write a ghost story. If I have such experience in real life, that is different. I will not be tempted to write about it. |

@scheng1 Oh that is too bad. I did not know that it topped out at 1000 words. It definitely would have been better to be able to make it into multiple posts. Now you know, so you will be able to do that in the future. I will have to read your blog. I am behind since I have not been on here very much lately as I have had other offline things to take care of. @Grecy Oh my, I cannot imagine that happening to me. I would have run screaming from the house and probably never stepped foot back in there. I have heard of this and have seen some episodes of one of my shows that I watch where this has happened. It usually is not a good sign and that there is something bad in the place. I hope this was the only time that this has happened to your mother. Was she very frightened? I hope this never happens to me. |
|
@scheng1 you could use that and if I have time, I will be sharing some more. I have lots of stories about ghost, but I haven’t seen it one. I saw a transparent one, moving but I did not look further as I was very scared. I also saw a light coming out fast in the forest but I still got coward to check it again, I was jumping running tumbling because of overly scaring experienced. |

It happens at home at lot of times @morgoodie. Even me, it happened to me. There was this time when me and my sister were left at home. My sister was preparing our snack because we were watching television. At the living room, the light was out. The only light serve was from the television. I saw my sister sit silently beside me. I told her where is the snack and she was just looking at the television. I find it weird. I went to the kitchen to get the food instead, thinking she just got tired and to my shock, my sister was there, preparing our Iced Tea. I told her that she was sitting beside me at the living room. She checked the living room and saw no one there. Believe me, I don’t want to get back to the living room anymore. She just carried me and I was crying.

@grecy095 That sure is scary! I think when I have the mood, I will use it as a base to write a nice ghost story. I will give it a twist. Perhaps I will ask the ghost to go and buy lottery ticket! I will make sure that I am the one who goes to collect the winning! I will not want the ghost to collect the money, and spend all on ice-cream. |
|
hahaha @scheng1 try it!! However, based on my research, your double should not be able to see you or look at them eye to eye because one of you will vanish in the world. I haven’t tried. Mostly my double is shy at me, but on serious note, no, never. I will never want to see my double, lol. I really want to read your story. I hope you have your mood so that we could read one in here. |
|
@grecy095 haha, in this case, I better send my double to work, while I go out and enjoy life! I think you can start writing a ghost story based on your experience! It will be fun, and after you have 1000 or more words, you can split into chapters and publish it as 3 blog posts. |
