“Aswang” is a mythical creature in Filipino folklore. It has fangs like vampire in Hollywood movies and even drink fresh blood from its victims usually human and animals. It lives in the forest or in the jungle and at night it hunts for meal. Someone told me a story from the province Isabela, Philippines that his grandmother was a victim of the said creature. He said that his grand mom was sitting on the rocking chair fixing the torn clothes of her daughter when she felt that something was on her neck which is a thread-alike used by the “aswang” to sip blood on her. She saw blood from that thread-alike and followed where it goes until she saw a pair of eyes on their roof so she hurriedly cut the thread and shouted for the help of his sons.

I don’t know how to react when he told me his story about that kind of creature. He even said that aswang can appear in many form like animals.
