Revival of Persona Paper
Author | Posts |
I know that some of you here used to post at Persona Paper, and I wonder if you had heard that one of the members is in discussions with Will about taking over the site? The site is not currently earning and there are no ads anywhere, so the current discussion is revolving around ways that users could produce content and still earn a little. It looks like the site rules will be modified to allow writers to add affiliate links until something else can be worked out. What really strikes me about this news is how beloved the site is. There are still some users posting there despite the fact that they can’t earn, and a significant number of people have said they’d rather see the site stay open even if it can’t pay right now. That speaks volumes for the respect users have for the way the site was run in total transparency, and for the work that Will and Heather have put into the site since they took over. Other writing sites would do well to look to Persona Paper for an example not only of how to earn the respect and loyalty of writers but also of how to keep the quality good and prevent plagiarism and spam taking over the content.

@ Kyla Matton Osborne (Ruby3881) I was a member of persona paper when it had started and wrote for a few months but then I stopped due to some personal engagements at that point of time. I loved the cool interface of the site but somehow I never went back there. And then I heard that the site shut down. I would definitely love to go back there if the site is revived. |
|
@Rubhy3881 I know there is a move and I wish her best of luck. I login there and have even posted a couple of posts. |

I have heard about persona paper, but never did I apply. There are so many sites now that eventually shut down. They better designed the best for their site so they could also have many viewers. They should also take care of their writers for without writers their sites will be nothing. |
|
Persona Paper has to shut down because their Adsense account was banned. I do not know the reason for it, but once Google bans anyone, it will not re-consider the application. Without Adsense, it is impossible to earn. |

http://172.104.9.193/members/ruby3881/ I must salute to the writers at PP, they are alike Blogjob writers, they still write free posts even though not paid.
I sincerely hope that PP and Blogjob will revive, I had been at both sites and my posts are still there, no intention to remove yet.
I will wait…. unless something unfortunate happens…. anyway keep fingers crossed |

@scheng1 Persona Paper did cease to be profitable without AdSense, and eventually stopped paying users because other advertisers weren’t working out. The site owners had planned to close, but there is a member who is considering reviving the site. She is not planning to have ads – at least not right away – but will be allowing users to have affiliate links in posts. The reason for the AdSense ban? I suspect it was sour grapes from someone who didn’t like that a lot of people were going there after Bubblews started to fail. PP never did anything wrong, and in fact were taking great care to do everything right. But the AdSense ban was the beginning of a long, slow death for the site. I’m hoping Meg will consider a new name and domain registration if she does take over. Perhaps she can break free from the old AdSense kerfuffle and have a chance at earning an account with them as the “new management.” |

@peachpurple I really hope PP will revive. But the site must offer a good incentive for writers if it’s to build up its steam again. Affiliate links are good for now, but more will be needed to attract enough active users to sustain the site. |

@ruby3881 There are only a few ways to make a writing site profitable. I think she can learn from Hubpages. They have Adsense and they have affiliate marketing to fund the site. |
|
@scheng1 I know HubPages was always a profitable site, and one thing that people always liked about it was the ability to use their own ads and affiliate links. It’s certainly something Meg can look into for the longer term. For now, I believe she wants to leave everything as is. |
|
I loved this site but I refuse to use affiliate links so I will still be staying away. I hope it can get up and running again though. Even if I don’t go back, I’d love to see it become successful again! |
|
@lolaze I hope we can get it back up to a point where it can pay writers too. Although I am looking at affiliate programs for my own blogs, I think it’s important that writers be paid simply for writing. |

Did not know the site was banned. That’s baffling. (???) At any rate, it’s not true that the site can’t earn. There are lots of Ad Sense alternatives out there. LiteracyBase uses Ad Sense and “other” means of generating revenues for this site. There should be no reason why PersonaPaper can’t do the same. (???)

I agree there are many adverts that any page can use. Must be something else. I am looking forward to new web site. |
