Experts Column

Yesterday a friend of mine told me about ‘ExpertsColumn’. It is a writing site where one is supposed to write an article of minimum 400 words. You make money in accordance with the traffic generated by your blog posts. I checked the site but I found it to be poorly designed. It was pretty confusing. The minimum payment is low (only 5$) but there are certain thins with which I am not very comfortable. Firstly that there is no way that you can determine how much you will earn per post. Secondly, the rather poor and confusing layout of the site. Have you heard of ExpertsColumn? Share your reviews please.

Let us not get into a site that is 50/50 for we may experience the same as in BMN. I do not know if you were a blogger there at BMN, I think you were there for there were plenty bloggers there from Blogjob. |

my advice is , DON’T JOIN IN that site. Expertscolumn writers (2 of them ) had stolen my Hubpages articles and claimed theirs. They had posted my articles , 6 of them which I had published at Hubpages for the last 6 years at Expertscolumn. Hubpages informed me that 6 of my articles were copied, I checked and found out that these people copy and pasted exactly without asking for my permission. I went to the posts, wrote down my comments and made several complaints to Expertscolumn team. They simply IGNORED my comments and my copied posts are still there. So disappointed.

@shaloo walia there is no down payment on experts column but you earn it based on how you share them. @peachpurple I remeber I had found few copied content on Experts column which I had deleted and the members posted them were also deleted from the site. You should not forget that in the beginning that site was a repubilshing site so members were allowed to post their content from other sites under the same username but after I joined the site I tried my best to report and get all such posts deleted. Now the site is a niche blogging site with strict rules. I am no more in the editorial or moderator team but I know these facts. |

@lovern – Expertscolumn pays. It isn’t Beer Money Nation for it cannot be short lived. They are more than 5 year old. @swalia – It pays you for unique visitor. Earlier it was very less but now, it seems that they have improved. You need to submit article for review and they take 24 – 48 hours for review. Min. 400+ words but they recommend 700+ words. You can check status in pending articles section. It is the only website I know where you get decent traffic even with no marketing. However, they are strict about link posting rules. Let me tell you my case. No. of blogs = 2 Total published articles = 16 Social media (and other) marketing = NIL Yet, Total unique visitors = 813 No @peachpurple – Plagiarism is no more tolerated. @sunil – Sir, it is nice to know that you are ex – moderator. You can give us more details on how it works. Please confirm. |

I have no personal knowledge of this site but from what others are saying it seems that it may have changed for the better. @peachpurple I am sorry that you had this experience. It is not right for someone to copy and use your articles for their own gain. People just do not have a conscious about these types of things. I am glad to hear that they no longer accept plagiarism and that they changed things there. Maybe it would be a good place to check out. |

@Thinker I was with Nicks admin of EC for last 2 hours. We were discussing about future strategies and I am glad there are number of new programs in the pipeline.
@morgoodie Yes there is no copied articles in that site any more . And as for copied content is concerned half of the hubpages was transferred on EC once it paid very high amounts to writers and the best thing was that twitter and stumble upon worked very well with true figures unlike most other sites at that time. |

@peachpurple Does the site have an email address for copyright infringements? If they do, you should file a DMCA takedown notice with that address. You can also file a complaint with Google, who will deindex the pages containing the violating material. If need be, you can even complain to the web host. They will not tolerate infringement, and will threaten to shut a site down if it doesn’t take prompt action to remove violating content. |
|
@peachpurple I think you must have contacted them when the site was not paying, and nobody was taking care of it. Expertscolumn stopped paying for a period time, and then it restarted the paying program. You can contact them by sending email to [email protected] or [email protected] |

@ cely I was there at BMN which was a total scam. I was never paid by the site and lost my two payments as well as the numerous articles that I wrote there. @ peachpurple I wonder how could the articles be published at expertscolumn! It seems like they don’t check the posts for plagiarism which is quite strange. |
|
@peachpurple I found the notice for copyright inquiries from their TOS. It says:
Paragraph 17 doesn’t mention contacting them in any way, but this email is given in paragraph 18: [email protected]
My overall impression? This is a site run by amateurs who are not native English speakers and who lack the expertise to deal with complex concerns such as DMCA takedown notices. But at least they made the effort to include the info in their TOS. Hopefully, they will also follow up on it. |

@ Kyla Matton Osborne (Ruby3881) I registered on the site two days back but I found the over all set up of the site very confusing. Somehow I just didn’t like the lay out of the site. And now all these negative reviews! However @ suny has been paid there many times and also has worked as a moderator there. I think he is the best one to really answer about all the site related queries. |

I have been a member of Expertscolumn since the autumn of 2011 and until the spring of 2013 it was my favourite writing site. I think I made about $200 from it during that interval, but then it stopped paying and when it returned several months later I discovered it has changed in a negative manner, especially because of its confusing layout and publishing rules, but also because the traffic I got to articles was significantly lower than before and it took me much longer to reach the $5 payout threshold, so I only published a couple of new articles on that “revamped” version. I am still a member there, but I haven’t published anything new for quite a long time because it doesn’t attract me anymore, at least for the time being. |
