Doing "Tasks" Sites
Author | Posts |
what is Mturk and what do you there? I come from Asian countries and that name of the site sounds very foreign to me though I was hearing that name even before. So how does Mturk works and how could anyone get paid from the site?

I do use Bing Rewards, but have only just started using it a lot and have acquired something like 230 points. Not sure what the limit is for exchanging them though, but I do not have to do much to earn the points so I am okay with this. For some reason, I could not get into Mturk and could never get the email sent to me again. So I just do Clickworker and like it a lot. I have been paid twice from them and usually find a few tasks to do. Sometimes, I get lucky when I go there and there is quite a few tasks to work on. The nice thing is that they automatically send you your payment when you reach the threshold, so you do not have to deal with cashing out. I have tried OneSource too but never have anything to work on especially since they changed their website. So I gave that one up. |

@4cryingoutloud I suppose you have forgotten the name of the site, am I right? 🙂 @grecy095 Mturk is a site where you can perform some tasks and get paid. Have you tried microworkers or shorttask? They might be similar sites. You can check out what tasks they offer on their sites before you join. It’s by Amazon, so I think it should be quite trusted, though I am not too sure about this. @morgoodie I have not heard about OneSource, but clickworker sounds interesting to me. I am really tempted to join, but I am sure I do not have enough time for more sites now. |

@kaka135 thanks for that information, since you are in Malaysia and we are both from Asian countries, do you think I can join? Is that available to all of the countries? It sounds interesting to know the site. Are you active there? |
|
@grecy095 Sorry, I can’t tell you much about the site, I think I did not join the site. I was just interested in it a few years ago, as I was quite active in doing the small tasks and it’s by Amazon. But, I am not interested in redeeming Amazon gift cards, because I do not buy things from Amazon. I just checked from the FAQ, it mentioned International members will get to redeem Amazon gift cards, so I assume we all can join. @slayer08 thinks this site works better for her, so perhaps she can tell you more details about the site. |

I was working on sites like Mturk and Microworkers but no more. Mturk is task site of Amazon and pays in cash to Americans and Indians only but I somehow mismanaged that site and now my amount has now been transferred to Myhabits an American shopping site, I have lost my interest. Microworker with its unique PIN system has never issued me a PIN through snail mail despite my four paid trials (they charge $2 every PIN request. In reply to my last mail they have assured me that my PIN is on the way and I have no option but to wait. However, I am happy with my survey sites where I am doing wonderfully well. |

@LeeKa OneSource used to be CrowdSource, but they changed names. Clickworker is really easy and user friendly compared to other task sites I have done. Or tried to do. I can make anywhere from $0.02-0.25 depending on the task available. Sometimes, there are hundreds or thousands of tasks for a single job, so I can make up to $1 a day or more on a good day. On EasyHits4U I have been doing the surf and getting credits, but how do you get the cash for watching the ads? Or can you exchange credits for cash? |
|
@kaka135 I am not interested in gift cards too even if the site will be available in my country for it will be delivered on my place and sometimes I cannot get it. I always prefer to get paid on cash through Paypal or Bitcoins through Coinbase and Coins. |

@JoDee Stout How about some other job work sites? I guess there is one good site Odesk (now Uplift). I checked it yesterday and found there are number of jobs available for skilled and unskilled workers. I am seriously planning to rejoin it and do some jobs. |

@sunil Did you choose to transfer the amount in Mturk to that shopping site or they just transferred it for you? The tasks in mturk seem to be more interesting than those in microworkers. I don’t remember being charged $2 to request the pin from microworker, but I don’t think it’s fair for charging that, especially it’s not your mistake for not receiving the pin. I have got my pin for the first time I requested, but I think I got paid once only, then I couldn’t find any interesting tasks to work on, so I just left it aside. I think I am just $2 away from the cash out. Glad that they still keep my account and balance there though I have been inactive for years. Perhaps I will just check it out once in a while and see if there is any task I can work on. I think odesk is now called UpWork. I was with odesk last time, but wasn’t really active in looking for jobs there as I have other work to do as well. I have heard from cessy in FC, it’s a good site to earn. I was told another similar site, PeoplePerHour, but I have not check it out. @morgoodie $1 for a day sounds very good for me. 🙂 @grecy095 Yes, me too. I do not have the temptation to buy things unless I really want to, so I always prefer cash through PayPal too. I am not familiar with bitcoins yet, perhaps that’s another area I will be looking into in future. 😀 |

Thanks @LeeKa I was confused on that point, but now I get the concept of being credited after the 1000 ads. I do not mind getting gift cards as long as they are for a place that I use or go to. I figure I can buy some essentials that I may need and it is like getting money. Usually the gift cards are sent to your email or your smart phone. At least, that has been my experience. The sites should tell you whether they will be sent through the mail or to your email address. I have not been able to understand about bitcoins yet, so I have not gotten into that sort of thing. Maybe someday I will when I can get a grasp on the concept of them. |

Before I was not comfortable with Bitcoin Mining guys, but then when a friend explained it, I clear my mind and accept the information. When it happens I find it easy to work on it now. However, I am not active. I only open my bitcoin mining sites when I remember, lol. |
|
@Grecy That is the way I feel about bitcoins. I do not understand what they are for and why they are mined. I understand that you can turn them into cash, but the whole purpose of this type of currency. I guess it is like anything else that is new, it takes some getting used to. I think if I just plunge into something and work on it, it gets easier to understand. I like to do things to learn instead of reading about them. Sometimes, what I read does not make as much sense as when I am hands on doing whatever it is I am trying to learn. |
|
@morgoodie Yes, I think many US people would buy things from Amazon, I suppose the site is really trusted and the products are good quality, am I right? I found that something are cheaper there too. But, if I’d purchase from that site, the shipping fee would be really costly. 🙂 I do not have any idea how bitcoin works too. Perhaps I will learn more about it later, in future. 😀 |

@kaka135, sorry I didn’t respond sooner, didn’t notice I had a second page of comments!! lol The site was INTERWRK, you have to use Firefox though. It paid a few cents every day directly to PayPal. It use to anyway!! |
