Tiger is one of evolution’s greatest form. It is an emotion- a language of unity. We revere its form yet vandalize its presence. 1) One of world’s most enigmatic big cat the Tiger is an emblem of our nation’s wild treasure and mother Earth’s truest form. 2) The Tigris has enthralled us for ages and India is the best place to give your dream its best chance to see one in the wild. 3) With over 2500 tigers still roaming the wild expanses of our country, India happens to be the world’s last hope of the emerald stripes. 4) Tigers sometimes get hurt when hunting porcupines and the pines are sharp and pierce the tiger mouth or pierce its legs this makes matters worse for the tiger as speed and agility are required for hunting which it loses due to injury and starves making it weak. 5) Albino tigers or black tigers are very rare and very few instances of cases are well documented. It is possible that out of the many litters one may turn out to be a black colored one or in the case of even one or two litters too there is a possibility of a black tiger delivery. 6) Tiger cubs are curious and inquisitive and retain that trait even as they grow. This helps them to expand their territory as they grow. And one more reason is that this trait also ensures food to them during bad times. 7) The cubs will be around two pounds at the time of birth and have a thick fur but shed them once they are a few months old. This is most probably required for them as they need warmth during adverse weather conditions and the fur coat is licked by the mother as if giving a bath as the tigers saliva contains antibacterial properties. 8) When they hunt only ten percent of them result in success for the tigers. So as the pray will become alert of its presence nearby they use stealth to achieve a better success rate in their hunts. 9) Bengal tigers are found to live both in the deserts, marshes and the grasslands where it is wet and cool for the them as they like to have a swim. 10) One more interesting fact is that Bengal tigers cannot outrun fleet footed prey such as deer. Hence adopt the technique of pouncing, using the element of surprise, taking the advantage of night, following the prey to a long distance by hiding behind bushes and using the element of surprise. In some cases they get hit by the hoof or foot of the prey such as bisons, deer, sambar, chinkara etc.

The planet earth has given us unique flora and fauna, organisms which reside in different spaces like air, soil, water, seas or oceans, land, swamps and ocean floor and other unique spaces which have not been fully explored. That in itself has turned out to be a boon for those creatures living there as wherever humans have entered the field they have created for themselves and other life forms. Man who is a social animal is the only animal who kills others including humans for reasons other than food. The main force driving this desire is the greed to accumulate more and more. He is not satisfied with all nature has given him but for the sake of wealth and money in the name of commercial activity, business, research, consumption, testing and what not ends up killing 99 percent of the life on earth. He is also exploitative towards his own kind and does not even spare other of his same race. He likes to wield power and due to his strong headed attitude ends up causing misery to self, others and different life forms which have been mentioned above. It is time humans stop this madness and concentrate on conserving, preserving the environment by taking care of the climate, forest, air, water and land. This will start only if he changes the destructive attitude in life and lives in harmony and at peace with nature. The sooner this happens the better it is for all. |
