Hyderabad is the capital of the southern Indian state of Telangana. It occupies 650 square kilometres (250 sq mi). It is also called the city of Nawabs. It lies on the Deccan Plateau and is in the south of India. At over 6.8 million, it has the largest population of any city in the state. It is more than 400 years old and has a rich history associated with. It has  River Musi five miles east of Golconda, the capital of the Qutub Shahi rulers in 1591-92 by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah. The city also has landmarks like Charminar, Golconda, Birla Mandir, Nehru Zoological Park to name a few. The city has evolved over the  period of years and has seen the fall and rise of many kings and kingdoms all of who have added to the rich history which reflects in its cultural ethos and divergence. The city has continuously expanded over the years and is still growing. It has developed into one of the major hubs for the information technology industry in India which has earned it the additional sobriquet “Cyberabad”. People from all over the country have come and made Hyderabad their home and are happy to be a part of this vibrant city with its rich culture. It is the fifth largest metropolis of India, known for its rich history and culture with monuments, mosques, temples, museum’s and new structures which are identified with the city. The Hyderabadi Hindi is a brand in itself and has served as a ambassador in language, so has Hyderabadi Biryani and many other cuisines which are famous all over the world known as the Deccan cuisine and tehzeeb. It has become a place which has been identified with good schooling and is home to nine major Universities and several research institutions, laboratories and libraries. It is also a place famous for medical tourism.

Compared to many cities the cost of living in Hyderabad is comparatively far better. The city is also associated with sports many of Sports persons who represent India are from Hyderabad. The Hyderabad Marathon and the Triathlon is not just a competition, it aims at encouraging participants to complete the activity, and revel in the satisfaction of the achievement.
