The plot consists of 3 classmates from different backgrounds studying in an engineering college. It reflects the reality of education system where parents in particular and society impose their attitudes of what one is supposed to study while pursuing higher education and the would be students choice is the last. The plot has used comedy to present this ground reality and sensitise society regarding the problem. The film has achieved its objective and has also become a commercial blockbuster among bollywood movies.
If you find some parent imposing their views and choice this movie is a right way to put your point of you across. The will surely understand this if they are sensible and also enjoy the movie. It also reflects how the current generation thinks and what it aspires to achieve. Rajkumar Hirani has done a great job in direction and Vidhu Vinod Chopra has maintained his reputation as a producer of good movies with good social messaging. The cast Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, R.Madhavan, Sharman Joshi and Boman Irani have all done full justice to the role and deserve full marks and so do other supporting actors, the songs are a hit and cinematography is also excellent. All in all a great movie can be viewed many times. The songs are a hit and well picturised. Suggest viewing on a big screen compared to television. Happy viewing.
