Rotavirus is a most common virus that affects the bowels by contaminating them. It causes lakhs of deaths worldwide annually and causes diarrhoea amont infants and children. India is one of the country where over a lakh of death take place. The body is affected by the virus in different and multiple ways and many infections can be noticed like low grade fever, watery diarrhoea, nausea, vomitting etc. A virus called Rotavirus Vaccine prevents diarrhoea virus to enter the body which causes death. This vaccine was later withdrawn from the which risked the lives of over more than a lakh children and infants. After many years of research since the withdrawal, A new vaccine named Rotarix was manufactured by a different group of companies which was very useful in reventing the deaths of many patients. In India the infant mortality rate is very high from 0 to 6 years and this virus was also one of the reasons adding to the increase of infant and child mortality. Hope with the new developments in the field of medicine the rate of deaths will reduce by a significant increasing the chances of survival of infants and children. The only issue will be the delivery mechanisms, which will make the vaccine available at all the points where there is a need and help in the reduction of mortality. Hope things change for the better.
