"KOKREBELLUR", A SMALL VILLAGE OF kARNATAKA HAS SOME AWESOME WAYS TO SAVE BIRDS
Author | Posts |
Kokrebellur is a small village in Karnataka. This village seems to be light years ahead of their urban peers when it comes to conservation of nature. While most villagers consider birds a nuisance, the villagers of Kokrebellur consider these birds to be their companions. They have even created a special clinic for diseased or wounded birds.

Yes. Is it not surprising? This is a small place in Maddur Taluk in Mandya District of Karnataka. When I visited Kokke during my tour to Sabarimala I happened to know about this place while I was returning from Kokka. I heard that the village has adopted Pelicans. There is also a bird sanctuary in this place. This is one of the best tourist attractions in Karnataka. |

Well, it is really surprising to know that there is a clinic for the birds and that too in a village. People in the village really consider it as a nuisance because they are peace loving people and they are very much away from the busy noises of the city. After reading this article I googled and saw the place and read an article where farmers are adopting rare birds and nurturing them. It is really amazing what the farmers are doing besides taking care of their crops. Even the village is named after a bird species “Painted Stokes” which is called Kokkare in Kannada. Amazing information @Barnali Sarkar. Thanks for sharing it here. 🙂 |

@Barnali sarkar, birds if tame they will be human-friendly. I like the music created by birds, love their tweeting sounds that seem like music that elevates my spirit to soar high up to sky. I am so delighted with them and their sounds. |
