This is the second variety of mango pickles which you can prepare. Each variety has its own distinct taste and have a new flavor. Any one who is interested in good food can try this. INGREDIENTS 1 green mango 2 tsp mustard seeds 1 ½ tsp fenugreek seeds 1 ½ red chilli powder 1 ½ tbsp salt 2 tbsp oil 1 tsp mustard seeds 2 red chillies 1 tsp asafoetida METHOD Wash and peel the mango. Grate it with a coconut scraper and keep aside. Dry roast fenugreek seeds, let them cool and grind into powder. Grind mustard seeds into a powder. In a mixing bowl, add the ground powders, salt, red chilli powder and grated mango. Mix well and keep aside.
Heat oil and add dry red chillies, mustard seeds and asafoetida. Let it cool. Pour the cooled mixture over the grated mango-spice marinate and serve in a bowl. You can eat pickles with rotis, rice or even bread. When eating with rice please add some ghee for taste and taste it with curry and crunchy chips.

Really this is interesting . I am hearing about it for the firs time. My mother was preparing a chutney with mango pickle . She was grating the mangoes. But the Chutney was liquid in form We were preferring it along with rice and other tiffins. It will be great as a side dish for Idlies. Can we add urad Dal also to the ingredients to bring more taste?I am very interested to know about the recipe. Also , please give me the proportion of the ingredients as it will be more useful at the time of preparation.
