Buddha the great philosopher and a great human being is known as a light of Asia but I think he was beyond any territory. How great soul was he it shows from the conversion of a robber named Angulimal.Robber was dangerous and famous for killings and wearing fingers of the killed ones. But when the greatest of the great personality faced him he was in his feet.If Lord Buddha wanted to kill him ,he could do that but changed him and he became pupil of Buddha. Such great person was he.

Buddha born Gautama was destined not to be a king and his father came to know of the same from the royal astrologer. All the members of the kingdom especially those who stayed in the royal court were told not to do any talk or make him feel sad about anything. His father thought once he became a prince he would understand the ways of the world and can face reality of life. As the time came when he became a young man and got married and had a child the father got relieved thinking that his son would rule the kingdom happily.

But one day Gautama wanted to move out of the palace and see the kingdom and what he saw shocked him as he had never seen such things in his own life as he was kept protected from them. He saw people poor, then he saw old aged people struggling to survive, he later saw people who were sick and unwell afflicted with disease and finally he also saw the funeral procession of someone who had passed away. All this raised many questions in his mind which remained unanswered he was restless and did not seem to enjoy the palace life anymore. He wanted to find out what the truth is which he was not able to know.

One day he left his wife and child his parents and the palace and set out to know what is the real truth and the answer to all the questions he had in his mind. He wandered from place to place in thought then after a long time one day he sat meditating under a Bodhi tree and his effort to find the real truth of life bore fruit hence he was named Buddha ‘The enlightened One’.
