A small village, named Chhapar, in Rajasthan, celebrates when a girl child is born and sweets are distributed. Also the women in the village do not wear the “gunghat” any more. What an improvement! Really, as an Indian I feel prod of it.

Yes. When we are all talking about Women Development making demonstrations, knocking the door of judiciary, and with the issues like Right to Pray,  Burkha, Triple Talaq etc., this place has already reached the stage of woman development. In most parts of Rajasthan, there are still some practices like Sati, child marriage etc.,  How could this small village overcome these social barricades is really a matter of great concern. Women in India should visit this village, imbibe its practices and spread them to the other parts of the state.

I think things such as this are surely leading to the gynocentrism in society. I mean earlier they used to kill the girls. And now that they are low in numbers they want to  celebrate? That’s surely one of the things that they need to change in near future for sure. I think equality should be given to all genders. But what they are doing is forcing the equity. Which is not going to be good for the society.

It’s a proud thing to share with everyone. Nowadays even in major cities, people are really following the myth and most of the people are afraid of growing a girl child because of the problems around the world. But this is really appreciable that they are celebrating the birth of the girl child in a remote village. As an Indian woman, I really feel happy about this particular event

It shows the improvement of women empowerment in India. Each and every citizen of the country is responsible for the safety and development of the women. Everyone should learn to treat the women in the society and every man should respect the women.
