Discuss best ways to clean the kitchen and the fridge? What are must-have tools? Do you prefer chemicals or natural products? How often do you clean your kitchen?

I would like to say that I clean the kitchen every day, but I do not. I use natural cleaners like baking soda and vinegar to clean with. I usually just use soap and water to clean the refrigerator and take the shelves out to wash in the sink. My floors get mopped with a steam mop so all it uses is hot water without any chemicals. I think this cleans better than using chemicals anyway and does not have a sticky feeling after it is cleaned. My son loves to use the steam mop and will do the floors for me. Most times all I have to do is give my children a wet sponge and they will clean the chairs and the walls. LOL |

Since my children were born, I started to use natural products as much as possible, as I would not like them to use too much chemical products. I do clean my kitchen after I have prepared my meals every time, but I mainly just wipe the stove and counter. I try to wash all the dishes after every meal or before I sleep on that day. This is when I am cooking or taking care of the kitchen. But, when my husband handles all these, he doesn’t do the cleaning every day, but just does it when he feels like it or when he is free, perhaps the next day. When he is in charge, I just don’t interfere and enjoy my break time. I’d just help out a bit whenever I feel like it. So, my kitchen is not really clean every day. 😀 I mainly just use water to wipe, and sometimes added with some vinegar. I do use the dish detergent to wipe the counter and clean the sink sometimes. I use toothpaste sometimes too. I would like to try with baking soda as I have heard it’s really good for cleaning, but I have not try it yet. |

We have the fridge, but it is not working. It now serves as our food keeper. My hard-working wife does the cleaning the kitchen. I notice that she does it every time she is through using the kitchen. When she’s done cooking. She also does the dishwashing. Sometimes, our grandchildren are helping her. When I have time, or when she’s not around or looking at, I do the cleaning and everything to look the kitchen spick and span. |

@nakitakona13 You do have a very hardworking wife. I think it’s always good to just clean up the kitchen after using it, it’s easier to clean that way. Glad that your grandchildren help too. My husband enjoys cooking, and lately as I am not feeling well because of pregnancy and busy with my work, he cooks most of the time and he doesn’t mind washing the dishes as well. Sometimes my little girl does like to help with dish washing as well, it’s a fun task for her. |

I like to use vinegar and water to keep my faucets shiny (and sinks when I have stainless steel sinks.) I also use vinegar and water to keep my stove top (the controllers) clean and shiny. To disinfect counter tops I use a mixture of bleach and water. |

I use baking soda for cleaning the sink. I use baking soda for cleaning pots and cooking materials, even the spoon with rusts. I use sand for some cooking pots that has a lot of charcoals. |

I personally use chemicals to clean my kitchen. It is faster for me and requires less effort. About how often, the easiest is if you clean every time you make it dirty, but I don’t always have the time for that. Whenever I have a spare minute and I notice it is not looking nice, I try and do some cleaning and arranging. Fridge is always an unpleasant thing to do because I need to move all the food outside and then wait for the ice to melt. In the meantime, I hope the food will not be spoiled. But, on the other hand, I can’t leave it dirty for too long since that’s not healthy. |

Nope, I don;t use any clenaing products. Just wet the kitchen towel, squeeze out the excess water and wipe 2-3 times until all the stains are off the kitchen equipment and fridge. If you use cleaning products, it will leave the smell onto the items. hence, plain water tap is the best solution for me. I even mopped the floor with water tap , no soapy solutions either! Saved a lot of money on that! |

We use chlorox at home in cleaning our tiles in the kitchen even in the toilet. Sometimes we use Mr. Muscle. After cleaning with chlorox, I pour the sink with hot water. |

@peachpurple, that is nice peach, you can truly save. I will want to apply it , I’ll share it to my sister. This way we can save our few pesos at home. |

First and foremost I clean my kitchen everyday with bleach and soap, because the kitchen is very sensitive to germs, it has to be clean and tidy at all times, otherwise you will be eating bacteria all the time you cook. as for m fridge I don’t use soap to clean it I use lemon because lemon leaves the fridge clean and smelling fresh. I always prefer using natural products because they are not corrosive, or too harsh on my hands. the mostly used tools in the kitchen are bleaches like vim that can be used to clean the tiled floors and surfaces well and also leave a fresh feeling. |

I noticed that I had to mop the kitchen floor every day after cooking. The floor is always sticky and my feet turns blackish! So, mopping is compulsory with soap water. had to mop a few times and the kitchen smells good again Open the windows, allow the air to blow in to dry up the floor. No need any fan |

The kitchen must be clean after every use to avoid clogging of dirt. This time I bought Mr.Muscle for it smells better than chlorox. I noticed that when our kitchen is clean our feeling is also very nice. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. |

I have a very small kitchen. It’s so very small that my clothes dryer is right next to my stove. I hate when my mom washes her clothes because she does not clean the dryer or the washing machine after every use. Since we have animals, dog/cat hair gets all over my stove and I hate that. So I am constantly cleaning the kitchen behind her. I use bleach on the floors because they are hard to keep clean. I have tried other cleaning methods but nothing helps. My mom also has a habit of collecting butter bowls that I am constantly throwing away. I swear if I wasn’t here she would live in a house full of butter bowls. |
