How do you deal with blockages in your kitchen sinks. In my place I usually wash my utensils in a sink where everything drains through one drain, so i always try to clear my dinner plates before washing them so that I can avoid it from blocking. but sometimes it may block because of oil and when this happens I pour hot water down the drain so that it can melt down any oil that may have hardened in the pipe. and that way the drainage opens up how do you deal with it.

Recently the kitchen sink REALLY was blocked and I had no idea why it was!

I searched online for solution and found that there is a possbility that the oils, fats that I washed off from the wok and pans had accumulated into thick form that looked like a soap bar blocking the U pipe.

Similar to cholesterol build up in our arteries.

So the kitchen sink is having hypertension.

Solution is I used baking soda, flush with water, nope didn’t work, the sink flooded.

Then, I used a hand pump for toilet bowl to pump up the sink hole.

It did reduced the water down pretty fast when I kept pumping.

I realized that the fats/oil was loosen or dislodge and unblocked.

Try this method.

I also do same technique. I pour the sink with hot water. If the blockage is so impacted with things in it, I usually use a baking soda with a solution. If it still cannot be treated with conservative techniques, then it is time to call a plumber.

I only rely on YouTube even on washing the bathroom and what are cleaning tips to wash it for 5 minutes everyday. There are lots of tutorial and most of it works.

I read somewhere that putting some Baking Sods over the drain and then pouring hot water unclogs the kitchen drain, and sink, and also kills bad odors.
I did try it out a bit but perhaps the water needs to be hotter.

This is one of the frustrating work which needed a good and sound solution. cleaning a kitchen platform is different from cleaning the sink.

I observed some smell in the kitchen I noticed that the home was the sink. I immediately bought a coke and poured into the sink. Whole mass and sticky were cleaned in a minute (anybody can try it at home).

The next thing was really frustrating. There was a rat near the bottom of sink tube. Always it was troubling me. I am afraid of it. I even bought a cage to contain it. But it is not coming out these days.

Presently I am using hot water to remove the clog and also using the vacuum cleaner to drive it out.
