I had read about the high incidence of a traumatic accident for elders. It is common in women elders to have a hip fracture. The root cause of this falls on the flat surface. A perfect example, fall from a slippery surface like in the toilet. That’s the reason why orthopedic doctors give home instructions to the caregiver for the elders to keep the flat surfaces of toilets or any places to be dry. We cannot bring back the functional state due to fall accident.

The many accidents that I ear or read about most of the time are usually road accidents, probably a drunkard was driving when drunk and rammed into building or into another vehicle. Then another one is usually of fires in homes of gas explosions and stuff like that.

@anitah In my city, it is a big NO to driving a vehicle if drunk beyond the limited alcohol intake. I think it became less incidence these past few years. I still remember my first encounter with such road accident a few years back. A young woman was hit by a drunk driver. After a few weeks, this innocent young woman died because of reckless driving.

@Shavkat, My friend got fractured hip when she slides in their bathroom.She has difficulty walking this time.She is is bot old only 32, she might walk well soon after some herbal medication done by her family. I hope to see my friend walks well again. She works in the city hall and assigned in the 3rd floor, no elevator, she must walk so slowly with a cane to support her.

@lovern As a Physiotherapist, my advice is to consult a Physiatrist and have rehabilitation. They can help her out to have a gait pattern. I am also in the same field. However, I don’t practice it anymore. I had so many patients like this. They were able to walk without any assistance or assistive devices.

@ Shavkat most of the accidents we hear in our country are road accidents. It’s due to overcrowded roads, carelessness and not following the law. However as far elderly people suffering from old age related accidents that is common everywhere.

usually read the news about car accidents, lorry accidents, motorbike accidents.

However, lately, it is more violent, stabbing and slashing murder plots, I think people are watching too much violent movies that had affected their mindset.

For example, a stepson murdered 3 of this family members , seriously injured another 3 family members by slashing their throats, wrists, stabbing their back, body parts, heads with skives, tools.

Left his elderly age grandmother traumatized.

@lovern I am in a practical side. There is no money in practicing my old profession. However, I was a mentor in this field during my stay in Central Asia. I had trained medical professionals in that country as a mission before.

I read about the road accidents in the news papers because it shows the listless behavior of the present government the main cause of accidents on the road is traffic laws but most of the people do not care for the traffic  laws and breaking laws in considered bravery in my country because they belong to rich families.

Home accidents at homes are due to carelessness, body here mind there causes accident as you describe in the article.

@jhsayyar Carelessness is really one of the factors for having card accident. For instance, some drivers don’t check the condition of their vehicles. If it not bring monitored and maintain the good condition, it might really cause possible unintentional accidents on the road.

Here in America, you can hear about all kinds of accidents. I guess it just depends on which part of the US you are hearing about. I have heard of pedestrians getting hit and killed by a motorist. People here like to talk on their cell phones and end up causing an accident. Younger drivers like to text. Keep in mind that driving while texting and talking on your phone is against the law but people still do it.

Then you hear of people dying from a drug overdose while in their vehicle or in their own home. It’s not safe to go to Chicago without fearing for your life. They have drive-by shootings there.

Driving while intoxicated, either from alcohol or drugs is against the law. Judges have been so lenient with these offenders and let them get off without any harsh sentences only to see that same person again for the same crime.

In Guyana majority of accidents follow as suicide, road accidents, murder and hospital negligence. It’s a real piece of work since suicide is the number one leading cause of deaths here.

@evilelf It seems there are some places that we really need to have extra care. I do think that all you had mentioned were the causes of accidents. But still, they continued to do it.

@jessicah That’s new to hear. If I may ask, what’s the common reason why some people committed suicide in your country? It seems that suicidal incidence is high. What seems the cause?

@shavkat to my knowledge this happens in the areas where knowledge is weak. Mainly depression, rejection and love yes love, the mentality that if you can’t have something your only option is to kill yourself. It is quiet sad. Of recent this incident in the news where a double suicide; mother and daughter killed themselves supposedly because of tax debt.
