I suppose few things in life follow a perfect script without shortfalls and imperfections. The fact remains that drugs are chemical and biochemical compounds which interact with minerals in the body and harmful compounds can precipitate as a result. Some drugs have a positive effect on one site of the body but negative on another. Luckily, most side effects are temporary and less severe and include headaches, vomiting, nausea and lethargy among others. The lengthy process of drug approval ensures that these effects don’t bring serious illnesses and are listed on packets as contraindications. Sometime ago, I took some malarial tablets and got into a state of delirium and enhanced fever after which the disease ebbed when I completed the dose.

This is the bad side of the chemical medicine, its the side effects. I think all manufactured chemically medicine have their own distinctive side effects. Its so happen the stronger the medicine the stronger its side effects. But we have no choice but take it because it said can cure us and we do not want the herbal medicines, traditional medicines and faith healing.

A medicine can be very good to someone and very bad to another one. I usually react to some medicine when taken and they really disturb me for a very long time. This post has brought me back to when I was still 8,  my mother gave me chloroquine when I had malaria, and through out at night I couldn’t sleep, I felt like collapsing. I scratched and scratched and scratched until my body started aching me so badly. I had to wake my mother to make her know the agony  I was going through that night. She was very sorry for me and promised never to give me chloroquine again and till today I have never taken  that drugs. There are also medicinal creams I don’t rib on my body due to its harsh effect. My siblings might rub it and they still will feel fine but once that cream touches my body, I will be in he’ll. Though after everything, I will still be well but I would have to go through troubles.

This makes my mother to be very careful when assigning any drug to me. She will have to consider if I react badly to it. If I do, she will look for alternative. Even my doctors tell me this. My doctors also consider which medicine suits my body system and do not give me the ones that will heal me smoothly without stress.

Every medication has a different side effect for it. Almost every single medication I take has a side effect of headaches and I’m prone to migraines. Does that mean I have to stop taking the other medications? No, it just means I have to watch when I take it and let the doctor know of any changes.

When the doctor prescribed your dad the medication he didn’t’ know how your dad’s body would react to the medication. I am glad to hear he is doing better. Please ask millions of questions when put on a new medication from now on. Ask the doctor and ask the pharmacist.
