If you are fat, I wish to know the reason behind it. If you are not, then what do you think are the reasons why people get fat to the point that they became really heavy and obese?

I am fluffy. I bounce. I am like the Panda Poe, but not exactly as black and white, nope, but I am kind of having  belly fats, chubby cheeks, chubby nose, chubby neck, however, my arms are not fat, it never became proportioned to my big body. Since I am small in height my friends will say “no you are not fat” so I am fluffy, but I can feel how heavy I am.

I got this because I am most of the time, or regularly sleeping during daytime and fully awake during the evening till morning, that is because I am working online. I was not that big before but I noticed since I am doing online jobs, I became fat. I guess if you are sleeping, not the normal time, it could happen to you.

How about you?

I am also somewhat fat though I have controlled my fat content somehow.

Heredity is responsible for making me what I am.

I too work mostly online but I do not prefer to sleep abnormally. You can work from morning to evening. You can sleep in night as normal. You can prioritize your work. You can decide what you are supposed to do and when. You can control your body structure by having a well managed systematic plan.

@thinker since the work is available during the night on my online work, I need to be awake during the night. I need to earn money, that is why I can’t sleep the normal time. My objective is to earn. I know I became fat because of that but there will come a time everything will be normal again. I think after a week I will have a daytime offline for full time and hoping I get back in shape.

I have a sedentary lifestyle pretty much and I can’t bring myself to exercise. Although my doctor said I’m still within normal range and my BMI is quite good, I can feel the the changes. Probably the slower metabolism is finally catching up to me.

@slayer08 I have slow metabolism now that is why I am fluffy and I know the not normal sleeping time is the culprit too. When it comes to exercise, I only want to dance, but because of no space at home which is stopping me to get active with dancing again.

I think my sedentary life style has much to do with it. I had to quit gym a few years back due to a back injury I had in the gym. I was advised by the physiotherapist not to join gym or any form of exercise for at least six months.

And then I had a minor surgery for gall badder removal last year. I don’t know if there is any connection but I put on weight after that. In any case, I put on weight when I am stressed. Last few months had been quite stressful for me. I am working on shedding the extra weight now.

@swalia oh, you had a surgery for gall bladder. I have a classmate that had the same and yes she is now fat and I can say begin to be obese. She is really that big, like double my size. That was fast because the gall bladder removal happened just last year. She is now depressed because of that. I think having that surgery makes you really fat but you can still control that.

I know sedentary is what caused me to double my size too. I am not okay with my size. I use to walk fast but not now I was like dragging my feet and I can’t breathe from a simple work. I really need to lose weight. I don’t want to grow old like this.

@grecy I know! Weight gain can make you quite lazy and you also are ashamed of the way you look in the mirror. I go for evening walks daily as I think walking is the best exercise. Doctors recommend 10,000 steps daily. I am nowhere near to 10,000 steps for now but I plan to reach the goal in coming weeks.

I have given birth four times and each time it became harder and harder to lose weight after each pregnancy. There are multiple reasons for us becoming fat.

Heredity, food choices, sedentary lifestyle and sitting for too long because we are online for long hours all contribute to obesity.

The best remedy is to be active. If you cannot find 40 minutes to be active, be active 10 minutes 4 times a day. Eliminate sugar and drink green tea. I boil a mug of water and add some lemon grass in it and drink it without sugar.

Eat small portions and stay away from Pepsi, Coca Cola and all other soft drinks.

@swalia I was doing the 10000 steps before and I even met that before. I bought a pedometer but it is quite useless because I failed to be consistent. Since you remind me, I will look for my pedometer after this one and will try to meet the 10000 steps. I am quite ashamed of what I look like because most of my friends are sexy and healthy and I look gross. I lessen my confidence.

@dawnwriter green tea is the other way, eliminating too much coffee replacing it with green tea is one of the best, however, the problem is that, I am not a fan of green tea. It is hard when you do not like what you are doing but you need to because  it is what’s best for you.

I recently read an article about belly-fat and boy was it scary.

Did you know that belly fat is associated with serious health problems, such as heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes. Bad diet, alcohol, sedentary life style, genes and fast food all contribute to belly fat.

Men tend to gather more belly fat then women which was rather surprising for me because i thought women gain weight around the middle more quickly.

To get rid of belly fat, doctors recommend that you eliminate margarine, pastries, cookies, and fried and convenience foods from your diet. Also adopt a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy, beans, nuts, seeds, lean meat, fish, eggs, and poultry.

And of course every doctor and health expert worth his salt recommends combining healthy diet with 30 to 60 minutes of exercise most days of the week.

Of all the things, genes scare me the most because obesity runs in my family. I can control my diet to some extent and I love to walk and I think i have enough willpower to say no to fattening desserts but how does one fight genes?

@Grecy Garcia  I am not in the fat category as I am only 75 KG and few grms for my 72 inches and I am the same ever since I completed my college years before.

@Dawnwriter I agree with you but I am glad for myself that my habit of walking and jogging saves me from belly fat.

@grecy I had a pedometer app on my cellphone. It wasn’t very accurate but it gave me an approximate idea of daily steps. Now that you have reminded me, I will download the app again on my phone. I wish I had money to buy a fitbit!

This is rather strange but a British study has suggested that if you consider yourself “fat”, you will find it harder to lose weight and will have an increased BMI.

Depression and stress about your own image can only make you feel worse and make it harder for you to lose weight.

So people with weight problems should think positive and be happy to lose weight effectively.

@dawnwriter

This is true. British have found out the right thing which is in accordance with the Law of Attraction.

In my childhood, I could not understand ways to lose fat. I met a coach who told me to attack it the way monkeys attack stress. I decided to make it simple and straightforward. I do not go for rigorous workouts still. My approach is quite simple. Fortunately I am getting time to opt for brisk walking. I know that it is slow but I also know that slow and steady wins the race.
