Why Does Wine and Chocolate Make a Perfect Pair?
Author | Posts |
Some say wine and chocolate will never become a good pair but they all got it wrong. Wine and chocolates are a perfect pair. I learnt during my college years that chocolates go well with wine in a way that the chocolate should complement the viand as well. They both boast similar complexities and nuances in flavor. According to my research, when choosing the wine and chocolates they should match closely in sweetness. It doesn’t matter if one is sweeter than the other as long as neither is significantly sweeter, why? because if the chocolate is much more sweeter than the wine, it will enhance the bitter taste/flavor of the wine and if the wine is much sweeter than of the chocolate then it will overwhelm your taste buds leaving no room for the flavor of the chocolate. That is all I know for now. So if someone in this site who is fond of wine then maybe he/she could share it in here to add it on my lists.

I have never thought about it before now makes perfect sense really. Here is my story i once went out with some friends not knowing i was going to be there until late. As we were just chatting away having barbequed meat, i remember my friend ordering some wine for me. I usually don’t drink much two glasses of wine can take me through the night. So we were brought for some wine and as we drank i remember ordering for some chocolate which i had no idea have some kind of benefits. I can actually say now that as i had my wine, i also took a bite of my chocolate and it tasted really nice. So i can attest to what your saying the two really go down well together. I think it also neutralizes the wine as well. |

I think that trend was started in France or Italy. There was bourbon and other type of win which tastes good was being offered. So those specific type of the wine were in demand in that region. I think american and british people did the marketing of wine and chocolate combo later. And they used any random wine in that combo to fill the gap. But as far as I know the french and Italian tradition has specific wine which started this trend. |
