What is your favorite Chicken recipe/ dish?

I am a great fan of any chicken recipes. Chicken is cheaper than fish and pork. Hence, most housewives like me, buy a whole chicken without head and feet for a cheap price. I could whip up chicken pot roast in 20-30 min without any side dishes. I called it a “dump everything into a pot” chicken recipe. I also like fried chicken, baked and grilled chicken. Sometimes, steamed chicken with rice wine is healthy for cold weather, to keep your family warm. What is your favorite chicken recipe? Share with us

I love bar-b-qued chicken, fried chicken and my favorite chicken recipe is chicken and dumplings!! |

Yes, I have the same taste as yours, BBQ chicken and fried chicken. Those are great numbers for parties and dinners. You just gave me the idea what to post for today, thanks my dear. As for dumplings and chicken, what are those? Stew or braise or fried? Do you have the recipe? I would like to try this and do you make them or dine at restaurants? Do share, thanks for your reply

@peachpurple here’s the recipe for dumplings that I use. Dumplings 1 cup flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon white sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon butter 1/2 cup milk Stir together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in milk to make a soft dough. Drop by tablespoon in you boiling chicken broth with your chunks of chicken (that has been boiled) Let boil for about 10 minutes, when the dumplings come to the top. |

I’m not sure that I’ve ever met a chicken dish I didn’t enjoy! I do love an oven roasted chicken. That’s a comfort food for me. And homemade chicken noodle soup is also comforting. I love to make it with plenty of veggies and nice, broad noodles. Fried chicken is a treat. We don’t eat it often, and I’m sure my arteries are happy for that! My crockpot cranberry-BBQ chicken is a fast and satisfying meal. And I love chicken souvlaki on a pita with lots of tzatziki and veggies! |

I love Chicken adobo, Chicken curry and Fried Chicken. Chicken barbeque is cute too. Lol, cute? So stupid for describing a food as cute, lol. I do not know anything chicken recipe to cook. I am just the quality control at home.It means I am the one that tastes the food. I also love Chicken to be part of Pancit Bihon. I think Pancit Bihon can compared to a Noddles without soup. |

thanks very much for your recipe. This is alike the Winter dumpling soup that I had saw online somewhere. Initially, I thought that you had to minced the chicken meat and add it into the flour base batter. Now I see that the dumpling is just an empty batter while the chicken has been made into a broth. This is indeed a comfy food for sure. Or perhaps, can I heat up a can of chicken broth and mix the chicken meat into the dumpling batter? Doesn’t the dumplings tasted empty like bread in the soup? This is an ideal soup for cold weather where you can warm up your spleen and tummy. Cheers |

oh gosh ruby! You are making me hungry again ! I just had my breakfast and I am hungry now ! yes, I do agree that majority of chicken recipes are easily prepared and deliciously cooked. Fried chicken is the best but have to consume moderately. Your arteries are not happy, neither is my gallbladder! Homemade chicken noodle is the best on cold days where you can warm up your tummy and for runny nose too. The hot soups helps to clear up the congestion plus Vicks vapor rubs. Cranberry chicken? Is that baked or roasted chicken? maybe you can share with us here. thanks for coming by, cheers

Oh yes sis, I had heard that Chicken adobo is popular and traditional chicken recipe in Philippines. It is alike our Chinese style Black sauce chicken stew, very tasty and goes well with white rice. As for fried chicken, what do you mix with the chicken meats? flour , salt and pepper? Your mom is the chef of the house, so you are the quality controller! Good, at least everyone has his own task to perform at home. My hubby is the quality controller, he will be the one who judges which chicken recipe is good, bad , salty, boring, etc. So, I will know what to cook the next week.
Pancit Bihon, what is that? First time I heard it online. Chicken without the soup? Is it dried noodles chicken? Black sauce? If it is, it is called “Kan Lao Mian” among the Chinese which means, dried noodles with stripes of cooked chicken. Do share your recipes here. Cheers |

I love chicken too and there are very few recipes that I do not like with chicken in it. Chicken is such a versatile meat and can be used in so many different ways. I love fried chicken, lemon chicken, bbq chicken, chicken stir fry, chicken with rice, chicken and dumplings, and chicken salad. I like to try new recipes since the ones that I always use get old after a while and it is nice to experiment. Sometimes, I will just look to see what veggies I have and decide whether I want noodles or rice with it and just go from there to create something. I think it is fun to come up with a new recipe and have my children be the guinea pigs to try it out. Most of the time I can come up with a winner, but sometimes my daughter just cannot be won over. My son is not quite as picky. |

@peachpurple starch mixed with flour, salt, sometimes with lemon and pepper. Actually sometimes with eggs too. There are some pre-mixes for fried chicken that is good tasting too. Sometimes my father preferred pre-mixes as it is less work for him. He will just drop the mixed on the plate and put the chicken there and fry. this is pancit. Photo is mine. It is pancit bihon, the thin noddle and it has pork and vegetable. I love this. Whenever a Filipino is having a birthday celebration, they always have pancit. It means long life as they say. On the other side, are you not having difficulty in planning for food to cook every day or every week or you plan in advance, because based on experience at home, it is always hard to think of the food to cook. If you have a site that helps in deciding for food to cook, share it with me. |

@Grecy That looks really good. I would love to be able to try that. I love pork and vegetables. I have not eaten anything like that before though. I love to get recipes from Pinterest because I can find so many different ones on there. Sometimes, you can just google recipes by the ingredients and come up with recipes that you can make with them. I do not plan meals that good for the whole week, but I will for the weekends. Sometimes, it is just easier to heat something up in the microwave after the kids get home from school. |

Okay this is weird. I just posted a comment about various chicken recipes and it has disappeared too. Very demoralizing! I am tagging you @morgoodie to see if tagging a person helps in making the comments stay. Otherwise mine keep on disappearing. @admin.
