Everyone has their own fear, however when that fear become irrational it’s common called as Phobia.

And i do have one which is Ailurophobia – fear of cats.

Since i was little kids, i really scared of cats. I can’t remember what is the reason – maybe my brain blocked those childhoof memories, but until right now i’m still really really really scared of cats.

My body shivering  everytime i saw cat and i can’t walk beside it. I definitely will scream and running everytime a cats running towards me or passing me by.

Do any one of you have phobia?

You have fear with cats? Oh I feel sad because I love them. So when we meet in the future, I will not bring one. But they are nice, though they have some attitudes and different personalities, but they are nice, most of them are smart and sweet. There are people who hates cats and kill them, but fearing them, it makes me sad. But that is quite understandable. I hope I can able to help you to resolve that.

Me, I have fear of heights. I can’t ride an elevator. I am fear of being stuck in closed space that I can’t escape because I will be lock down. The movement of elevators is near to killing me. It seems that my head will blow up and I will die instantly. I can’t ride Ferris Wheel and I fear trying out to ride an airplane. Anything about flying will surely kills me.

@haraka/

oh what a pity! It is true that some people fear of kittens, cats, pups or dogs.

These are related to childhood memories.

Maybe you were bitten or scratched by them or your parents said” No, dirty cats, don’t touch, germs, etc” that kind of stuff.

That is why you had that fear in your brain. It is a normal reaction for you to get away from the cat when you see one.

I have a phobia on cockroaches.

Yup, I hate them, dirty, smelly and crawly.

When I was a school age girl, I was standing still due to the National Anthem.

Everyone in school had to stand still when the song is being played through the loud speaker.

I felt my bums very itchy. Had to keep scratching non stop.

Then I felt something crawling down from my pinafore to my leg.

My classmate who was standing behind me screamed like hell.

Yup, a cockroach had just crawl down from leg which is why I had been feeling itchy.

Since then, I had cockroach phobia.

I could even sense where is the cockroach around me.

@grecy095/

I can ride those high rise wheels but only once in many years.

However, I have a phobia of flights, just like you, airplane.

hence, I never had a chance to ride a plane, not even a short distance.

If I am not wrong, I started to have the fear of heights because it is related to deaths.

In my mind, if by bad luck, the airplance crashes in the hills, sea or land, majority of the passengers die in the plane.

When it is death related, I remembered vividly of my grandmother (father’s mom).

She passed away in her sleep after drinking a cup of her favorite black coffee.

When I came back from school, there was a funeral parlor in my home.

I cried for days and nights, I dreamed of deaths, what it is like, body being chewed up, rotting, can’t see my family again, etc.

Hence, deaths had became my fear beside airplane.

@peachpurple you are right, I have a fear because it is related to deaths, but also even when I was young, I don’t like being carried by someone. I don’t like being raised and not even a way to pull myself down. I was crying when I am being carried. I always wants my feet on the ground. I don’t know this unless I learned it from my mother. I can ride an escalator but it is because it is slow and doesn’t move up my nerves. I have nerves problem that is why I am not good to ride an elevator.

my only phobia is typophobia – fear of small, clustered holes. It makes my skin crawl just thinking about it. oh men..

I have a big phobia of dental related things/medical stuff.  I’m currently being forced to face it as the wisdom teeth are coming out this summer.  I’m fortunate that I’m getting a ton of support through this!  People here and on my other writing site have been cheering me on and giving advice, as well as my friends in the non-virtual world.  I figure if nothing else, after this summer I’m going to have this fear conquered.

I used to be terribly afraid of having blood drawn.  Then I went on two medications which required regular blood tests.  I got over my fear pretty darn fast because I had no other choice.  Sometimes with your fears, you just have to charge at them head on and you get over them that way.

No I don’t have a phobia, no special fear I am aware of.

I am not really happy to be in any dangerous situation – like hanging of the tall building washing windows is not my dream job. I also dislike driving through the gas station or handling gas bottles – that’s why we have electrical oven, cooker and a wood furnace as well, but not any gas near.

I don’t fear snakes and spiders, but if I see any in our living space you can be sure I will be ripping floors off – I am afraid that they are going to harm my family.

I am not afraid of the deep water but I am getting grays when I see my folks going a little bit too far.

I have no fear of fire, I will be pretty much picking zeal with my fingers but if I see my kid anywhere near the kitchen I freak out.

I think that I fear for others especially for my family and I am overly protective about them because it is my natural instinct.

Yes, I do have phobias. I have fear of spiders. Do not like them and am afraid of them if they are near me. I was killing one at work and my worst nightmare came true. I stepped on it and a wave of tiny ones went running. It was a mama spider caring her babies. I was sure they were attached to the bottom of my shoe so I kept stomping it to kill them or get them off of there.

I have a fear of heights. I do not even like to be on a ladder. I get vertigo when I am at any height and especially close to the edge when I am up high. This is one reason that I could not jump off the diving board at school since water makes it look like you are even higher than you really are. When my sister and I were on vacation with my children, we stopped at this lake. It had this concrete pillar that was quite large with railings around it. You could walk out there and you were some ways into the lake. The kids were very excited to be by the railings but I kept getting dizzy and paranoid that the kids were going to fall in. Finally, my sister told me to go back to the grass and wait. I kept picturing my children falling in and drowning. I was nearly hyperventilating from my fear.

I also have a fear of water. I can be in a pool just fine, but I will not get into a lake or river especially if I cannot see the bottom. I will only go as far as I can see the bottom. Once I can no longer see it then I am stopping. I do not like to have my face in water either as I fear I am going to suffocate. I am not sure why I have this fear either.

I am a little bit claustrophobic. I do not like being closed in certain places, but worse than that is having something over my face. I do not like to have an oxygen mask on since I feel like I cannot breathe. So I do not like waking up from surgery since I have a mask on usually. My mother was the same way so maybe I inherited it from her.

@Haraka  I am claustrophobic. I feel suffocated in closed spaces. I am also scared of heights. And I am also scared of all these roller coaster rides. I can’t enjoy any ride in the amusement park. I feel giddy and so I no longer step onto any ride. I am also extremely scared of lizards.

I have three phobias.  The first one is cleanliness.  I just cannot tolerate a dirty house, I know that there are unclean situations in every workplace but I try my best to keep my surroundings at work clean and also when I am in public like restaurants and etc…….Someone said to me that I may have obsessive compulsive disorder.  I say to that, “Oh well”, it is better to be clean than to subject myself to germs and diseases, it is a lot of that going around.

My second one is spiders.  Lord knows I am so afraid of getting bitten by one.  They just look totally creepy to me.  This always can be related to being clean.  I would guess the more clean you are the less you would have to worry about bugs.  Don’t get me wrong though because if I see a spider I have no problem with killing one especially a brown recluse.  Oh my gosh!  Those spiders are a trip!  They seem to have a personality not to mention they jump and people who have gotten bitten by one have either died, have lost a limb, or have had a large hole in the part of the body that the spider bit.

My last one is snakes.  I believe that this is due to me having a really bad nightmare about one.  Every since then snakes have been on my hit list.  I would most likely run first because some are known to chase you which is scary to me.  Here is the south snakes and spiders are numerous especially those brown recluse.  Then the south has a snake, I believe it is called a blue “something” and everyone tells me that this snake will chase you.  That is just so creepy to me.  I know that I can run but if I saw a snake I would definitely pull a record running.

@haraka I have quite a few phobias.  I have a fear of deep water.  The reason behind this I almost drowned swimming and I don’t know how to swim.

My second fear is dogs.  When I was little I went to the store and bought some candy and I saw a dog running towards me.  I didn’t pay attention thought it was harmless till it got really close barked at me almost bit me.

The third fear I have is crossing the streets.  I was in 3rd grade trying to cross the street to go home but somehow I had panic  attack, I was stuck in the middle of the road.  I saw a car heading towards me it was going really fast then it was in front of me.  I thought it was gonna hit me and I’m gonna die.  Eventually I managed to get out of there.

I have a few fears. I’m not sure what the scientific names are but my fears are:

Fear of tight places- I want to be cremated when I die.

Fear of heights- I have been pushing myself to go up in the Ferris Wheel to get over this fear

Fear of falling- Not sure what I can do to get over this fear.

Fear of clowns- I have never liked clowns.

I am sure I have a few more fears but this is all I can think of at the moment. I am wanting to travel by plane some day. Hopefully that will help with my fear of heights.
