I love reading :

  • Readers Digest
  • Women Health
  • Her World
  • Female

Readers Digest gave me a lot of knowledge of topics that I may not be familiar with and I love the tips given on different aspects.

Did you read the Laughter the best medicines and the Quotes of the Day?

I wrote a few articles on the Quotes of the day at Blogjob.

Her World and Female – you can see tons of female models wearing the latest trend of fashion, makeup tips and female secrets .

I always flip to the last page where I could read the best article of the month about women secrets

Women Health- is the key to healthier lifestyle and tips plus treatments to women health problems.

I don’t buy them, I read them every month when I drop by the book store!!

I love reading reader’s digest too because there are lots to read from there. I started reading it when I was young because my cousin loves reading sort of magazine like that. She buys the second hand, as well as her pocketbook are all second hand too.

Aside from that, I love magazines that talks about interior, fashion magazine and all about foods. Sometimes I am reading magazines about how to start a business. Those magazines about entrepreneur that focuses on something I don’t understand, I prefer to look at the pictures only. I do not have a specific name to tell because I hardly remember the name of the magazine.

Specifically, I am reading Time Magazine as there are lots of Time Magazine at work.

ah yes, those magazines are great to read too.

However, I don’t buy them.

I would be broke if I were to buy each of them every month!

However, it is hard to get 2nd hand magazines now.

I saw there is a bookshop that sells left over magazines which are a few months back.

However, the front cover of the magazines were torn off and sold at $2 each, regardless of genre.

Looks new but too bad couldn’t see the front cover

Sometime in the 70’s, I was a regular subscriber of the Reader’s Digest. I like reading every article published in the said Digest. They’re written in a simple grammar. They could be easily understood. What I loved in the page section of RD is “Things to Ponder”. It provoked my thinking, my wisdom to analyze the situation presented. And what I really craved so much in that international reading medium is the vocabulary section. I never got a perfect score in the vocabulary test.

I used to be a regular subscriber of ‘Readers’ Digest’, ‘India Today’ and ‘Femina’. But now I don’t read many magazines. So much is available on the internet nowadays that I don’t feel the need of buying magazines. Besides the magazines have become too expensive now.

The magazines that I buy and read now are:

  • Rishimukh- It’s the monthly magazine by Art of Living Foundation and contain articles on Spirituality, discourses by my spiritual master and articles on yoga & meditation.
  • Back to Godhead: This is the montly magazine from ISKCON and contains interesting articles on Krishna Consciousness.
  • Future Smaachar: It’s a monthly magazine on astrology and contains articles based on astrology & allied sciences.

When I  get bored I read Time Magazine at work.I love reading this stuff because I want to read English types, just to get some new words and new phrases to share online. I am glad that at work, they allow their employee to borrow Time Magazine.

I am a huge fan of RD but I don’t buy them.

It is way too expensive to buy RM15 per month.

Hence, I borrowed from my younger brother who had subscribed the magazine yearly.

Yes, I love that section too, but I love the Laughter best medicine best.

@swalia/

I agree with you, nowadays magazines are expensive, no offers, don’t buy them.

Most magazines are online now but not in full news. I read RD and Females online but they had shorten the news or stories.

@grecy095/

good to hear that your company allows employees to read magazines.

In the past when I was working in an airfreight company, only the boss is allowed to read the magazines and newspapers.

We are forbidden to do so.

@peachpurple With so much available to read online, my magazine reading habit is on a decline. I read books. And for casual reading, I read blogs and other articles online. I have subscribed to various blogs and so I get their new blog posts via email which I can access and read on my phone too.

Yes they allow us to read but we need to return it on proper place, but I am not reading lately because I nap during those times. I get tired most of the time and I have lots of work during the morning, I prefer napping after eating my lunch. I eat my lunch for 5 minutes and nap for 40 minutes that prep myself to get back to work at 1 in the afternoon.

I would have loved to take a nap at work but I didn’t get that long for lunch. I am glad that you are getting your rest even if you have to take a nap at work @grecy

@peachpurple  My dad used to get Reader’s Digest and he would always read the jokes in there out loud to us. I enjoyed reading some of the articles in there too as I got older. I have not read one in a while. I never seem to have time to read magazines anymore. I really wasn’t a big fan of them anyway. I might look through them at the doctor’s office.

@morgoodie/

me too, the first thing I would search are the Laughter the best medicine jokes, great entertainment.

The real stories are quite long winded, get so bored sometimes that I flip over the pages.

I love the tips articles, very useful and informative.

I don’t buy these magazines anymore.

I just browse them at book shops for free
