According to Chinese belief, it is a trend to celebrate a person’ 60th birthday with a grand celebration .
2 of my brother in laws had celebrated their 60ths birthday with buffet dinner at home.
All family members and relatives were invited to attend the birthday party with kids and teens invited.

We have joined so much especially my children when they’re still kids. Now they’ve grown up. They’re now adults who have their own family. We just have a limited “San Juan” participation. This year we’re unable to go to the beach to enjoy this annual water festival. My children have their own work. My grandchildren have their classes to attend.…[Read more]

@nakitakona 13, June 24 is not a holiday in CDO, we haven’t experienced fiesta like going on in the sea, though I live near the sea. There was no coincidence in the city where I live splashing of water, so peaceful.

nope, there isn’t such activity here about water splashing.
It is nice to see people splashing water at each other, even though strangers.
Must be an enjoyable event.
But gotta be careful since you mentioned about drowning
Hope that you had an enjoyable day.
Did you really joined in?

“San Juan” is a tradition among the Filipino who go to the beach to have some fun, and to celebrate this special day for Saint John the Baptist.
People do enjoy doing some fun with the beach goers or the passersby by splashing them a bucketful of water. Other have tugged themselves a hose of water to freely sprinkle water to the people who walk…[Read more]

Birthdays tend to be highly commercialized here, especially children’s birthdays. It’s expected that parents will spend a lot of money to host a party for a big group of children and that each child will bring a lavish gift for the birthday boy or girl. Much money goes into buying decorations, food and drink, party favours, etc. Many times,…[Read more]

Every third Sunday of the month of June is traditionally celebrated as Father’s Day in some parts of the world. We do celebrate this in our country. This is an excerpt from my blog, “We’re 64. What We Can Do” –
“Happy birthday,” greeted the hubby. “Happy birthday, too,” replied the wife.
This is not rare for there are couples who are celebrating their birthday together for they’re born in the same month and date. And there are many married couples holding this birthday.
I don’t know if…[Read more]
