I first came to know about Alistair MacLean through one of my friends who was reading his novel “The Guns of Navarone” which was also made into a movie.
Later another friend of mine who was his fan introduced me to some of the movies based on Alistair’s works-
“Guns of Navarone” ,”Force 10 from Navarone” and “Ice Station Zebra”.
I read his books later in 2007 when I read Santorini and Athabasca.
His writings are about spy/action/thriller plots and he is very elaborate in his description of naval ships as well as how navies and armed forces operate.
At times one has to think a lot as to how the things would look in an actual naval ship, but overall the stories are excellent with some surprises thrown at regular intervals.

Has any of you read Alistair MacLean’s works?
