Oh, I have been reading this novel since last 1.5 months, with some days going when I could not get the time to read it. It has been so engrossing. So thrilling, as well as keeping me glued till I almost fall asleep during the night time.
Yet, now I am nearing the end.
I am feeling a little sad. I know I can read the book again after perhaps a few months.
But that excitement, that travel into another world, it will all be gone.
Do you also get similar feelings when you are close to ending a novel or a book you like very much?

Yes Peeush.. I also have similar feelings while nearing the end. I feel some books should never end. But it does not happen.. You can read the same book again and again but you will never have the same feelings.

@ichchhemrityu
Indeed, with many books, we do get that strange feeling.

I feel the same, as soon as I find a good book that I like I hate it when it ends, I would love the story to go on forever, I love it when the books become a series so I can come back for the next books. I hate it though when there are more than three books in the series, because I feel that the story then gets dragged out to long.

Very true. when we near the end of a good book, we do feel a sense of sadness. I feel it every time I read teh Harry Potter series.

Somebody once said, Finishing a good book is like leaving a good friend. but the good part is that we can meet the same friends over and over again every time we open the book.

Which book are you reading, by the way>?

I can totally relate with you. It can be fun to read things some of the times. It gets you interested. And then suddenly it just ends. I think I have read many mystery books which ended this way. Though the best part for those stories is such that those books are meant to end that way. I have spent a lot of time reading such books which ended in that way. I wish I could do something good about them. But for some reason it didn’t end that way so far.

Hi Peeush,

You are right. Reading a book is always like a journey and travel. It has a beginning, a middle part and the end.

We begin reading any kind of book with excitement and anticipation for we do not really know what to expect. As the saying goes we cannot simply judge a book by its cover until we read the last page.

The author of any books takes us to the many twist and turns of the plot of the story most especially books of fiction. There’s sometimes the climax and anti-climax of the story and sometimes a surprise in the end that we never ever expected.

Sometimes reading a book is like a minds game, a puzzle or like walking inside a maze. We grow with the book that we are reading and treat the book and the story contained in it as a real, living persons or real events—sort of a friend walking with us along the way of life.

But just like any other things in this life, sometimes and as most often do happens, some good things never last.

When we reached the last page of the book that we are reading there is this sense of accomplishment and achievement and mix with it is the parting time—the time to say goodbye to the book we are holding in our hands and to the story that was created in our minds.

Yes, I know there is a nostalgic feeling about this…but we need to move on… to read another book… and enter again and again into another magical world on and on and on…

Yes Arnold we need to move on and perhaps wait for the next book!

And some books are so engrossing we just can’t put them down.

@lovern so what all books you read?

April 13, 2017 at 2:27 pm

Yup. I had this feeling when I finished the book The Great Zoo of China” by Mathew Riley. I literally slept with the book and carried it along with me like it is my most prized possession in the world. Even my mom thought that I went crazy, lol and she started to worry.

It’s a science fiction book involving dragons and stuff. I was too obsessed with the book and I cried when it ended. The ending was not sad and the book went on to a movie and I fell in love with the character named CJ. She is super intelligent and smart and an all rounder. Tackling every problem smartly and also she had a very brave heart. Man, that was one awesome book.

I am yet to buy that book as I buy all my favorite books and add it to my collection. That book has become my most favorite of all. I am not simply boasting up about that book this is how I really felt. If anybody is yet to read this please do read and you will love it. Even though we feel sad that the book is going to end we should always move on to next awesomeness. 🙂 Thanks for the thread. Happy reading.
