Handwork
According to the dictionary, handwork is work done with our hands, but not by machines. This includes drawing, painting, crafting, crocheting, knitting, sewing, woodworking, cooking, soap making, etc.
Let’s share what you are interested, what you are working on or just anything about handwork!
World Wide Knit in Public Day
Author | Posts |
I purposely logged into the site today just to share it’s World Wide Knit in Public Day today, on 18 June 2016.
I received the newsletter from Lion Brand, a yarn company, and just found out this day. I think it’s quite interesting and fun to knit together with others in public, whether or not working on the same project. This knit in public day started in 2005, and it actually falls on the second Saturday of June each year.
I would like to have this opportunity one day later when I am more available to join, though I am not sure if there is any knit in public event hosted in near my area. It would be even greater if I can participate in the event together with my children.
Have you heard of this day? Is there any knit in public event in where you stay? Have you joined any knit in public event?
You can read more about this day here: World Wide Knit in Public Day

Glad to see you again, @kaka135! I heard of World Wide Knit in Public Day from a writing friend who runs a crochet and knitting blog. As I was glancing through some links that were tagged with the #wwkip hashtag, I also learned about something called “Knitted Knockers.” These are hand-stitched, lightweight breast replacements for women who need a breast prosthetic. As I was glancing through some links that were tagged with the #wwkip hashtag, I also learned about something called “Knitted Knockers.” These are hand-stitched, lightweight breast replacements for women who need a breast prosthetic. They are made by volunteers and given free of charge to any woman who needs them. One group was joining in a park to make these #KnittedKnockers today. I think that’s simply tremendous! |

@ Lee Ka, Good for your country and government you have that knitting in the public. May I know the purpose of that and who will provide with the materials. Also, where shall the products go? |

How about crocheting I can actually single crochet pretty well and once in awhile I can double crochet. Have a good day. |
