We have encountered this situation in our usual activities every day as we are mingling with our fellow being. “We can fake a cake, but not its taste” is one of the many quotable quotes which my youngest son had written. He made use of the comparison between the cake and its take. What does he want to drive at that cake is being made with one-thousand-and-one designs, but it is still a cake. It doesn’t make any big difference as to its taste of a cake. In my own interpretation. this could be best expounded by the famous Aesop’s fable entitled “Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing.” The wolf though disguised itself as a sheep by wearing the sheep’s hide and mingled itself to the flock of the sheep. The sheep didn’t notice it and they were devoured by the wolf one at a time. The shepherd had noticed the gradual loss of his sheep. And he had discovered it and found the culprit which tried to sound itself like a sheep, but failed. Then it met its fate. Moral Lesson: Hypocrisy will drag you to your downfall.

| It is true, our taste is a very reliable source if that kind of cake is really moist cake for example. My kids nephews at home do not eat cakes if not moist cakes from Red Ribbon hehe. One time I bought from Stevens moist cake because it is cheaper hahaha, but useless for after they tasted, they felt in dismay and never eat again. | |
| This saying is very true. A copy of the thing can’t be compared to the original thing. People who pretend who they are not can never be the real thing. This is why pretending isn’t the right thing to do. | |
| @Mathews Kasamika, pretentious people are found everywhere or if you don’t contradict my assumption, we are not exempted for this. Are we? We couldn’t sometimes control myself not to pretend or to sham our true emotion to avoid embarrassment to others. The only point where being pretentious is dangerous to push through your evil agenda to others. You trick them. You mislead them that you like them in order to accomplishment your bad intention to them or take revenge for their wrong doings. No one is perfect and nobody is too loyal to a friend even to his own family. That is a fact. It has been proven that a member of his family is a black sheep. It is written in the Bible. I don’t know if you have read it. That is my point. Anyway, I am very optimistic that everything there is always a hope that it would be alright. | |
| It is a good quote actually. This is where integrity plays an important role. There are always people like that who is always thinking of cunning ways to pull down a person. Nobody likes the growth of a person even he is his best friend or his brother or sister. There is nothing good prevails in faking something as we know the ultimate end result because of that. For how many days we can be faking something which is not? It is best to reveal the bitter truth than a sweet lie. It will end in getting hurt on the both sides. When caught of that one day the consequences will be severe so it maintains our integrity and honesty here. However bad may be the surrounding but it is best to stay honest and optimistic. By doing so it will save ourselves from problems. Also, it will prevail happiness and positivity around us. |
