| Pardon on the title, I know there is something wrong with the grammar. This is the explanation of that. I am asking everyone on where they come from, it means your country and how it is like there, what it looks like, what is something you want to share about your place that is really interesting. You should not have to tell the exact location, just tell if you are from the Philippines, for sample sake. Okay, let me be the first one to break the ice. I am from the Philippines, one of the countries in South East Asia, the home of Manny Pacquiao, Charice Pempengco and Pia Wurtzbach ( and I even researched the right spelling). One of the great things about my country is because I AM HERE. Of course, that is just a joke. One of the best things about my country is our hospitality love for music, cooking foods, respect for elders, beautiful mountains, and beaches. One of the famous beaches in here are Puerto Galera and Boracay. We have a lot of malls too. I am such a useless person to describe my country, let me research some more. My country has a lot of flaws, but I choose to talk about the good things about it.

| I live in America, almost right in the middle to be exact. In my city – We are known for having tornadoes here And being the home of a huge beer manufacturer. As far as my country – right now we are heading towards the presidential election and things are crazy. People love to hate Donald Trump, the businessman who will be the Republican candidate. Many aren’t fond of Hillary Clinton either. There will be lots of insults thrown and arguing until November when people vote. | |
| @grecy095 I have heard that Philippines people are very friendly, and really respect the elders and treasure the family, which I really admire. As for me, I am from Malaysia, another country in South East Asia. It’s a multi-racial country, where there are mainly Malays, Chinese, Indians, and other races in the country as well. So, we have been learning about each others’ cultures and enjoy the festivals and food from different races here too. One thing I really like about my country is that, there’s no natural disaster here, which is a blessing to us. Another great thing about my country is that, the weather is considered quite good throughout the whole year. Though I always like to enjoy the cold weather, it’s not too hot and not too cold in Malaysia. I am not good at introducing my country too. I guess there are always good and bad things, same as you, I prefer to talk about the positive side too. By the way, I am a Chinese. | |
| I am from malaysia, same as @kaka135/. There are 13 states and 3 federal territories.
I live at the southern state, near to singapore.
Yes, it is a multi national country, malay, chinese, indians and sikh. Majority of the government offices are muslim employees, so we had to communicate with them in malay.
Otherwise, we can speak our own race dialects in our family.
We enjoy various festival and holidays. Do you know that malaysia has the most public holidays?
Ironically, i don’t like malaysia weather, it is either too hot or too cold. Rain or sunshine, thats it Right now it is the hot season. So, it is best to drink lots of water instead of cold beverages. Avoid fried food too.

| @peachpurple @kaka135 Philippines is a tropical country. We are in hot or cold. Rainy or Summer. During Summer, the weather is so hot, during cold weather it is super cold too. Mostly it is cold in January, after January , our country is hot already. Glad to know that you both are from Malaysia. I know your country is one of the beautiful country in Southeast Asia, especially your beaches too. What are your favorite places? | |
| @peachpurple So you are staying in Johor? It’s quite far from where I am. I am staying in the central region, Klang Valley. It used to be very hot here in the last two months, but recently there have been raining almost every day, and sometimes very heavy rains too. Hope you will get some rains there as well. @grecy095 I was quite surprise to know there is winter in Philippines as well. I always thought tropical countries are very hot. Do you have rains there now? I read from mylot, it’s very hot in Philippines. Hope it’s getting better now. I am quite surprise to find @peachpurple is from the same country as me too, as I do not usually find Malaysians working on these online sites, but many are from Philippines. I am not good at introducing those tourist spots, as I seldom go traveling even locally. I do visit Genting Highlands quite often, not because of the casino, but just because I like the cold weather there. Moreover, it’s quite near to where I am staying. I am not so fond of the entertainment and gambling events there, but I really like the cold weather. 😀 | |

it has been years since I last went to genting Highlands. Yes, since Genting is located high up on the hill, it is a great sight to see the cloud and mist view, the hills and cable cars. Yes, the cool weather is better than the southern or the city. A great place to relax. Some people go there to gamble at the casino or have fun with the funpark rides. Pretty expensive. You can also go to malacca, a history state that introduces Baba Nyonya Peranakans recipes, mostly spicy, a mix of Portugese spice. I love Malacca Nyonya food. The beach there, only the Century Mahkota hotel has the best view of the beach. Other historical site like the the big ship, the cow cart, the run down fort and the historical churches are wonderful places to take photos. You can also ride the trishaw around the Malacca town.

| @peachpurple It’s a good idea to share some pictures of our own country. I will try to find some and share later. 🙂 I visited Malacca a few times, and I like the historical sites too, especially the street that sells many handcrafts. I also always visit the temple in Genting Highlands. I usually visit the temple when we came down hill. There are many statues there, and I like to tell the stories of them to my children. Another reason I like about Genting Highlands is that, I can just walk around without needing to travel in the car. I actually do not really like to travel in car, as I always have car sick problem. Yes, I just knew jkct01 is from Malaysia as both of you mentioned Bubur Ayam, I think. I am actually staying in Klang city, not exactly the city center. There are many shopping centers in the city center, but I seldom go there, first of all, I don’t like to be in the traffic jam, I don’t like shopping and I am always lazy to go out now. 😀 | |
| I love in the Philippines. It is the land of my birth. It is the land of my people. We have three major islands. They are Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. I live in the Visayas region, particularly the newly created Negros Island Region. Our country has 8 major dialects such as Bikol, Cebuano, Hiligaynon (Ilonggo), Ilocano, Kapampangan, Pangasinan, Tagalog, and Waray. The language being taught all over the Philippines is Tagalog and English. Our population is about 60 million Filipinos. We consider ourselves as the race of all races. Our natives or aborigines are limited. You could see them in a very few in number. They tend to be diminishing because of inter-marriage to the foreigner. We have a strong family tie relationship. We are the happy people for we have various festivals that attract more visitors and tourists. We are notably friendly and hospitable. | |
| @lolaze yes tornadoes, I know that. I see them in CNN. We don’t have that in my country but we can see a forming tornado in the clouds sometimes. I watched how Hurricane Katrina left some city devastated. Did you happen to vote sis? Is the voting system selective there in your place, like not all people are voting? @kaka135 we do not have winter in here sissy, but we only have summer and rain. But sometimes the feeling is like winter, lol. @peachpurple I love those pictures. Thanks for sharing. Yes, I know we used to be brown skinned but then because some of us married foreigners that make us race of all races. You have 8 dialects. I wonder how many dialects we have in our country.
