There are so many instances that company’s experience high rate of employees’ resignation. What’s really the reason behind? Big companies had their way to success because of good management. Some factors are not being considered by the owner of the company. Why? Because the aspiring bosses are too busy gaining profit and not thinking the welfare of their employees. Do you have any ideas for the company to be successful? I do think it is all based on the needs of the subordinates to stay longer in a company? What do you think are these needs of these people?

@shavkat/ you know, big companies are not planning to retain old employees anymore. Whether it is related to the employees age or number of years experience, the boss would rather let go of them, refused to increase their pay and go ahead employ new fresh graduate without experience but high certificates.
My daughter who had started work this month, said that the previous person who left this position to another company, had been working in the company for 10 years! Can you imagine, how much experience this guy had? Why he left? No increase pay and not met requirement that he had suggested. His pay is 3x higher than my daughter. So you see, the boss is saving cost now.
I worked for a multi-national for well over 22 years and I called that the golden era until situations changed when we had a new head who had his own way to manage the company that did not suit me. I resigned. I had 7 bosses in 2 years and each time a new one came those presentations that we had to make drove me nuts.
@peachpurple In some companies, they are letting go the employees based on tenure. The saddest part for the old employees, they cannot find a better job since companies prefer non-experienced applicants. With this kind of scenario, discrimination is so evident. @bestwriter You are not alone my friend. I had worked with so many companies. I resigned because of such factors that are not acceptable for me. Thus, I started to decide to work at home and manage my own time. I am the boss and no need to follow the bossy bosses. I hate dealing with their guts.
@shavkat I started my own landscaped garden designing business giving vent to my creativity – a hobby turned into a lucrative opportunity.
@Shavkat, Companies prefer retention of employees up to their regular status for it is money and time wasting recruiting and training new recruits. It is a mandate by law employees to reach to their tenurity for security.
@bestwriter That’s nice to hear. I have some hobbies too. But I cannot determine if it is a good opportunity for business. At present, I am planning to have a short term course as barista. I have this dream to have my own coffee shop. Since my city produces brewed coffee beans and supplied to nearby provinces. I was thinking it would be nice to grab the opportunity. @cely I do agree on that. Some companies wanted to retain the tenured employees. However, there are still tenured employees resign due to unorganized management of a company.
I would like to work with the educational institution as a teacher. But I hadn’t made it. My elder brother wanted me to work in the bank. I bid his suggestion. I took Commerce course in college. I graduated and landed a job to a local bank in our place. I worked there for 5 years. While I was working there, I took education subjects in college after my off office duty. For almost two years in going to college, I completed it and graduated with flying colors. I took the Board Exams for teachers and I passed it. I left my banking job and applied for a teaching job and I was employed. And now I am about to retire from the said profession, not only as a teacher but a school principal. Therefore, the Department of Education (DepEd) is the company which is best suited for my ability to teach especially the students.
@nakitakona13 That’s a great accomplishment of yours. At this moment, I worked as a home-based teacher online. I cannot see any difference except for the high payment scheme. There are times that I wanted to try to work as a professor in university. But then, I am in the practical side of life. So I choose to work full-time online. If I am going to count my blessings, it would be a productive one. I had worked in hospital institution and studied my master’s degree during weekends. I also nailed it with flying colors. My life started to grab the opportunity working in an American company in China and then moved out after a year. It was like I am looking for something new. When I went back to Philippines, I got interested to work in one of top English academy. It took me years to stay in the academy and turned out that the management is not suitable for me. The reason, the academy is ruled by Korean administration and the counterpart Filipinos role is like a dummy. Which I realized that this is unacceptable based on the jurisdiction of anti-dummy law. I am in right principle. The rest of my work experience circulated working in an international NGO as a volunteer in Central Asia. I realized that working in community is my passion. After I had accomplished my mission in Central Asia. I went to our country and tried an adventure in the government agency. The reason, they do have the same community projects. Eventually, I filed my resignation due to the old system in our government. I can’t bear working with incompetent higher ups. They are in the position with the old practice of nepotism. At present, I am still enjoying the moment of teaching English language to non-native speakers. It is a high time for me to transfer my skills. But I am still open to work with the community in the future. However, it would be in an international NGO for the second time around. I will take the online teaching as my part time. I guess I had share so many things. It is a great write up for a blog. On the other hand, I will have another manuscript of my life next time. When I read your comment, it triggers something from within.
@peachpurple, What a waste of years 10 only to resign because there was no salary increase,Maybe there company has less gains that is why they weren’t increase. They should have helped improved their service than to resign.
@shavkat I had a good start as my nephew who knew a builder set me on it. It was a big project and I got thorough satisfaction doing it. I no longer do it. Now I am a lady of leisure 😀
@shavkat, what an experience you have had in working as a community worker. What particular? Social Worker? You have also a lot of things to be proud of. I have to admit that there are a lot of Filipinos who have been taking the role of a dummy, which is an utter violation of Anti-Dummy Law. By the way, have you long been here in our country the Philippines? Why have you come back as you told in your reply? How do you find out place? Is our government? What about the Filipino? So right now you are an English online tutor of those non-English speaking peoples. I remember I have tried to apply online in teaching English managed by the Korean. I think it is a Filipino who handles the prospective applicants. I was interviewed online and after the interview, I was told that I have improved my English conversational communication skill. Though my grammar is no problem, but the way I talk, my intonation has needed to be polished. Well, I never reapply.
@bestwriter I am jealous. You have all the time do things during your leisure time.
@nakitakona13 It is partly a social worker project. However, I am more on medical mission. I had rendered my professional service to teach medical practitioners in Central Asia. They experienced an outbreak. I am teaching English online but with Chinese students. You can try it again. There are so many online tutorial companies here in our country. I hope I can share with you the names of the companies. But I am not sure if it is allowed to share here.
@ Shavkat I worked for ten years for a reputed media house before I quit last year. My boss had made life hell for me and other employees who had been with the company for long. He just wanted his own team to step in. The sad part was that our own management didn’t help us when we raised the issue. They preferred to be silent spectators and so I had no option but to leave. |
